No, the first two aren't playing as far as I know, but the last one is. Not sure if everyone here's been paying attention to the sport world outside of football, but if you haven't, I highly encourage you to Google the latest Golf Masters Champion Bubba Watson. Pretty cool dude with an amazing finish with two sudden death holes in overtime in the Masters at Augusta this past Sunday. Bubba is an unorthodox, self-taught and down to earth golfer whose style was also not supposed to ever be good enough to win something like the Masters. And it just so happens he apparently asked Tebow to follow him on Twitter and will be playing in Tim Tebow's Golf Tournament this coming weekend. So it seems just about everyone big in sports for some reason ends up having some sort of connection with Tebow. But don't blame the media or take this to be some sort of publicity stunt. Turns out Bubba Watson asked Tebow to follow him on Twitter last year in a parking lot, long before they - or at least Bubba - became the biggest stars of their respective sports. Bubba's been on the list for this Tournament for some time now and from the way it looks, camera flashes and publicity is not something Bubba's after. He will be playing in the Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Classic this Saturday. But before this happened, Bubba Watson just happened to win the freaking Masters and basically become America's most recent talked about golf celebrity. Naturally, right? Of course. How does this happen? How does the latest sports hero end up being connected in some way with Tebow? Or how is it that this happened a week before Tim Tebow's tournament? I have no idea. I don't question it anymore. I just watch. One thing's for sure, everyone will be talking about it. Tebow's perfect storm of ever-growing popularity is pretty bewildering. I'm just waiting for Danica Patrick to announce she wants to give him a ride there. Tebow and a couple of other UF students formed the foundation in 2010 to raise money for good causes such as orphaned children, pediatric cancer, etc. You can read more about it and the upcoming event here: http://www.timtebowfoundation.org/about Other Tebow headlines: Planet Earth announces it wants to revolve around Tebow. Sun says it had first dibs the moment it shined on him. Universe shops Earth in a potential trade to Andromeda. Milky Way fans revolt. Black Hole has "no comment" on NFL inquiries into bounties, sucking and the vanishing of NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez and his fanbase. If you clicked on any of these make belief headlines, you've just been Tebowed. And if you haven't, you know you can't help yourself: Tebow me.
It's a celebrity golf tournament and they are all looking for an easy pub grab, and Tebow gets a lot of buzz. Not really hard to figure out, unless you are an idol-worshiping fanboy who wants to turn it into some kind of epic event.
Reading comprehension would really help. It's not hard....you just read....before you reply. Tebow was a back-up QB and a fourth stringer when Bubba met him. They both share their passion for helping others. Bubba uses a pink in memory of his father who died due to cancer in late 2010 which is likely why he wanted to play in this. Tebow's foundation helps kids with cancer. Your assumptions are very wrong. Not everyone is looking for publicity, especially these two who DON'T need it. They're trying to give publicity to a greater cause, not to themselves.
Cool. But what is Tim Tebow's favorite color? Is he a side sleeper or back sleeper? What is his favorite band? Does he prefer nikes or reeboks? Italian food or Chinese Food? Boxers or Briefs? Please tell me WhichFan, I'm dying to know!!!
Additionally, to ignore the value an athlete's day to day efforts to acquire high performance skills is unfair to that athlete's dedication to improving their skills. IF there is a genuine need for people to indulge in mystical reasons for actual events, then being thankful for the opportunity to improve personal skills is as good as it gets. Mystical intervention is a stretch, at best, and borders on delusional, at least. As far as a mystical reason for certain people being around certain people, 'birds of a feather' is the prevailing dynamic.
Oh, I can read just fine... "How does this happen? How does the latest sports hero end up being connected in some way with Tebow? Or how is it that this happened a week before Tim Tebow's tournament? I have no idea. I don't question it anymore. I just watch. One thing's for sure, everyone will be talking about it. Tebow's perfect storm of ever-growing popularity is pretty bewildering. I'm just waiting for Danica Patrick to announce she wants to give him a ride there." You are a frothing fanboy.
Well if you weren't so hell bent on being right or wrong or looking for something to criticize every time I post something about Tebow, you have two legs and wouldn't have to catch up... I love how so many haters are trying to downplay this as no big deal. I can just here your comments after he wins the SuperBowl.. "so, he only did it because he came to the Jets...couldn't get it done in Denver".
Literacy? No, that's just rude. Comprehension and analysis, yes. Also, Vandy's weakest programs are probably Engineering and Math (response to "mathletes").
