When you heard it on ESPN, was it the same analysts you heard and swore on (without ever providing a credible source) who said Brick would be a bust when we drafted him? Just wondering if it's those same experts or a new round-robin of assholes this time.

His QB thought he had to seek attention after winning a second super bowl. The Giants player are clearly annoyed the Jets get media attention even though its mostly negative. For a team that supposedly plays the right way or whatever its called they talk a lot with or without a SB to back it up

I don't think Eli was trying to seek attention in saying that, I don't think Eli has ever WANTED additional media coverage/attention at any point. I think there is a perception amongst the NFL that the Tebow trade was only done to bring media attention to the Jets and keep them in the headlines despite their crosstown rival winning the Super Bowl. I think this perception is especially high amongst the Giants and some of them feel the need to comment on it.

I personally wish they wouldn't, but I can't blame them if they feel riled up by some of the comments from Rex et al. over the last few years. I know that many on here don't think Rex's comments are that bad, but I sure as hell don't remember tensions between these two teams running this high during the Mangini regime.

I guess seek was the wrong word, but Eli clearly thought he was being overshadowed which shouldn't happen after winning the SB, that was my point because the other poster said they just won a SB they don't need to seek attention.

I don't have a problem with the Giants talking, I have a problem with the media pretending like the Jets are the only team that talks. The Giants have always talked before and after this SB since Rex got here. The safety Rolle guaranteed playoffs once or twice in a row midseason and both years 09,10 you didn't make the playoffs. Nobody was up in arms about that in the media.

It's just that national media feeds the perception that the Jets talk more than other teams when in reality they are just covered more and shown more on ESPN so the media uses that to change reality and say the Jets talk. The only time the Jets really talked and went over the line was the week before that playoff game in Foxboro. Besides that, they just get covered more and taken out of context more.

I normally do not reply to your posts but U R way off on this on since many NYJ fans me included since 65 in my case that Tebow was brought in to deflect attention away from the NYGs winning the last SB

Also as World Champions Osi has the right to give his HO of us or for that matter any other team in the league

Sorry to say I think U R way off base with this post. 1st the NYJs are NOT covered very much by ESPN because they are losing team. Secondly the NYJ trash talk started with RR arrival & promises of SB wins. MHO is that RR uses all the trash talking to hide his lack of abilities in his capacity of a HC. JMHO

I think Rex is a good, but young HC. He cut his teeth as a DC and, as an HC, all of his areas of weakness are things he didn't have to deal with while being a defensive coordinator. His biggest weaknesses to me seem to be working with the offense in general, raising a young QB, and the nuances team leadership.

Rex talking is just who he is, I don't think it's something he does consciously or intentionally. It helps sometimes and it hurts sometimes, but I don't think it's changing.

Why does Osi always care so much about what the Jets are doing?

There is a huge difference between trash talk and overconfidence. Rex wasn't taking shots at anyone except accidentally at Norv Turner. The week before the NE game the Jets were trash talking like crazy taking shots at Brady, Bill, and Welker.

YOu must not watch much ESPN during the 8-8 year (which doesn't make them a losing team or a winning team just an average team.) They were one of the lead stories all year win or loss and were all over ESPN. The media was delighted the Jets were struggling. They waited 2 years for it.
