I found this on Espn/Pro Sports Weekly... "Even though the failed trade with the Jets sent Strait back to New York, we hear the Browns like Strait so much that they might try to trade for him again." First of all do we really want to give up depth at CB/S? Second of all what do you think would be the market for Strait? IMO i think if we could get the 4th back from the Barlow trade, I would be satisfied, and 3rd would be great. If theres is actually any merit to this, I dont see us making a player for player trade. Theres really noone on that roster that I really think we need.
Does anyone even know what round pick we gave up for Barlow yet? Mabye we replace the pick we gave up with a pick for Strait.
How in the world? 0 INTs in his career...Never started a game in his career...Has been a solid special teamer and SOLID Dime back... That should get the Jets a 4th rounder? Come on. Yes, he has talent and could thrive...But you don't get a 4th rounder for him...Crennel and Savage aren't stupid.
Also...The key word is MIGHT try to trade for Strait again... So the title here is mis-leading...Not saying the trade cannot be done, but he isn't a Brown yet.
This title is very misleading- here I am thinking that the guy has his bags packed. Meanwhile it's nothing more than an unsubstantiated rumor.
5th rounder you take it and go...Their is so much depth at safety with drafting Eric Smith and getting back Andre Maddox now...Count that with Washington, Rhodes and Coleman and the Jets are pretty good at safety depth wise.
If Crennel likes him so much, I say we keep him. I'm so fucking tired of the Jets being the farm team for the rest of the NFL.
I don't see that as any great depth: Smith- an unproven, couldn't win the #1 spot with Coleman out. Would love to see him step up his game. Maddox- coming off a bad injury last year- camp reports are that the guy was still hobbling and had definitely lost a step. No NFL game experience to date. Washington- hasn't shown anything more than ability to step it up on ST, where he excelled last year. Depth, quality depth?
Wow, I thought it was a done deal based on the title If we recoup the fourth for strait that would be great, but for god sakes don't make it sound like its already happened.
The kid's NEVER had a shot. Year one: Herm playing rookies, c'mon year two: hurt and the whole team was a disaster I'm not saying he's going to be great, but he's never had a chance. I thought he had strong potential
