Since we have the #4 spot in waivers this off-season, what players that have reportedly been on the bubble do you all think would make good additions to our club? I know I saw Klecko's name mentioned as a bubble player, but he may have since established himself. Another Patriot on the bubble is Monty Biesel. You have to assume that since Washington now has Portis, TJ Duckett, Ladell Betts, Rock Cartwright and Nehemiah Broughton that one of them is hitting the street. I also read that Duce Staley might be expendable. Let try to keep this list realistic - ie players that have actually been mentioned in the news as "on the bubble" and not turn it into another fans' wishlist...
Deuce Staley is available because he looks like he hijacked a Dunkin Donuts truck and swallowed the evidence. No thanks. -X-
I had heard that Philly was interested in bringing back Duce. I liked Rogers coming out of MSU, but he has been a disaster in the NFL.
The FB Pollitte from Dallas might be let loose... they are supposedly going to go with multiple TE formations and use less FB.
I thought he was way overrated coming out of college. He dropped way too many passes in his college career to be drafted in the upper half of the 1st Rd let alone the #2 player chosen overall. That being if he were able to grap him off waivers, we would be getting tremendous value. His concentration level can be suspect at times but he is still very talented, has great measurables and speed plus something to prove.
Yesterday, 3 way trade with Denver and Atlanta. Denver got rid of Ash LeLee, got Wash 3rd rd pick Wash got Duckett Atlanta go Ash LeLee or however u spell his name.
On multiple occasions I have read that Jerald Sowell is competing for the second FB job in Tampa... if he loses out, he could be available too.
I'd love to bring back Jerald, he was a good team player and would probably be an upgrade over Askew/Martin, though then again maybe he wouldn't be if he can't even win a backup FB job in Tampa.
I'd be all for bringing in Rogers if he gets cut. What's the difference between him being unproductive vs. McCareins? He'll prob wind up being alot cheaper as well.
