Found this blurb in a NY Times article about Kevan Barlow... http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/24/sports/football/24jets.html?ref=football
Do they need to write the word undisclosed when it comes to injuries? This is Eric Mangini we're talking about here!
I read a couple days ago in someone's blog or something that he got hurt in practice.. It was Monday I believe.
That would be unfortunate because he seemed like he was going to be a really good punt returner / third down receiver for the Jets. I hope this is minor.
this is why it makes sense to keep McCareins. although i think he has underachieved, we'll need him if someone goes down because we can't rely completely on Smith and Newhouse, mainly due to their inexperience -- heck, Smith doesn't even know how to run solid routes yet so he needs more grooming at WR (despite his gameskills). cheers
I wonder if Dwight's injury is more extensive than we know????............ala.. the reason we didn't get rid of J Mac for Duckett. Also, I really want this Newhouse kid to make the team, he has worked hard and has shown he belongs.
Damn he was really looking good... and at his age a few more injuries could hamper him from getting back to form ever again
Agreed. Even though I think that JMAC is a complete putzwad on the field, cutting him with a possibly serious injury to Dwight would have been a foolish move. The allies in WWII disclosed more in the way of details and planning than this regime has. Maybe the Dwight situation is like the movie Dave. Suppose Dwight tore the ACL's in both knees simultaneously. Mangini and Co. lock him in a secret bunker below Hofstra, pushing assorted cold cuts under the door. At the same time, Bradway scours the nation for another 5'8 speedy white guy who looks just like Dwight, possessing an identical skillset. Next week, the new Dwight takes to the field, both knees intact, while old Dwight sits 40 feet below ground, watching reruns of "As the World Turns" and debating case strategy on "Judge Judy."
During one of the practices I saw him tweak what may have been a hammy or knee on the last PR rep. He walked it off and continued practicing, but maybe it tightened the following day- I didnt see him in there last last two days of open practice.
I hope that's all it was Jetcane. It's hard to tell with this "Tight Lipped" CS. KOZ: I always enjoy your avatar changes,
I'd guess that he doesnt play tonite since he hasnt practiced this week. Who knows when they will say something about the nature and extent of the injury.
