I have the 12th pick in the draft. Any guys you think I should keep an eye out for?

I am assuming Foster, Rice, McCoy, Rodgers, Brady, Calvin Johnson, Forte, Chris Johnson, Brees will be gone. I am hoping that McFadden falls to me but very doubtful.

Any thoughts on Murray if available? (Like him but very shaky O-line).
Do I go with 1 of the 2 TEs? MDJ? Peterson?

    Snake draft?

Personally I'd go Stafford and Graham and then hope for Steven or Fred Jackson to fall (if they go like that they'll be a WR run next). Or if you're not big on a high QB then take BA running back, but they have question marks after the big 3. MJD's probably safe if he's there.

I actually think RB is deeper this year than people are expecting. Not near as deep as WR, but not bad. Lots of position battles and spots for guys to jump into the comp. back role.

Tight ends are garbage after the top 2 unless you can steal Tamme real late.

I made a Draft Chart which has it's own thread in this forum; you should check it out.

If you have the 12th and 13th picks, then you might wanna grab Stafford and Brandon Marshall. Or if you value RBs more, then Stafford and McFadden. Either way, I think you should grab Stafford with one of your first two picks. He threw for like 5,000 yards last year, so if he continues to progress, then he'll probably put up big numbers again. If you want to roll the dice, then maybe consider Cam Newton too; he had some huge weeks last year.

Personally, I like choosing a QB (if one of the top 3 or 4 are available) early because I can rely on at least 25 points per week from that position, and it allows me to snag skill positions at great value for the remainder of the draft.

I think that this year the RB position looks very weak after the first 3 to 4 players.

With that being said, I think there's a lot of very good value later (like Rounds 4-6) for RBs. Most FF draft pundits suggest to stock up on RBs, and most people choose RBs early, but I take a different approach. Between injuries, platoons, and the overall direction of Offenses in the current NFL, I think it's much safer and reliable (i.e. consistent) to grab an elite QB and an elite WR early.

For example, I did a 14-team mock the other night, and I chose #2. The first selection was Ray Rice. At my #2 spot, I chose Aaron Rodgers. When it came back to me for my next pick (snake style), I chose Brandon Marshall and then Hakeem Nicks. My roster ended up looking like this:
    QB: Aaron Rodgers
    WR: Brandon Marshall
    WR: Hakeem Nicks
    RB: Shonn Greene
    RB: Stevan Ridley
    TE: Aaron Hernandez
    W/R: Eric Decker

    (PPR league: .5 points/reception)

Although my RBs wouldn't post big numbers, I could be successful with both of them getting 8-10 points per week. Rodgers is 25-30 points/week; Marshall and Nicks are 15-20 points/week; Decker is 10-15 points/week; Hernandez is 8-12 points/week. That's 89-117 points per week from just those players, without the additional points from Kicker and DST.

And the main reason why I can count on these WRs/TE posting those approximate numbers consistently is because they have Offenses that are conducive to their productivity and, more importantly, they have very good QBs who get them the ball.

This is just my drafting style, which has been successful for me for the past few years. I'm not saying it's right over another way, because I know there are successful teams that are composed with more value on the RB, but it is another drafting method to consider.

I ended up taking murray and graham back to back.

Gronk, Stafford, and top RBs (CJ2k, dmc) were all gone by pick #12.

Don't like Nicks at all and very suspicious of Greene. Other than that -- great team.
