Yea the Patriots are going to trade him to a division rival. Branch is overrated anyway he hasnt had a 1,000 yard season in his career yet turned down a 5 year 31 million dollar contract.
He's a great #2WR imo, but we certainly don't have the need or space for him or the bait to acquire him in a trade.
i knew it was only a matter of time before we saw this thread. why do we want every free agent available? There is NO WAY the Pats trade him to the division.
There's no need for him... he's looking to seriously cash in, and he's only marginally better than what we've already got. He may come in and be the best receiver in the unit, but he's not good enough to justify the salary we'd have to pay him.
they just dealt for a wr...and whoever gets branch(which i dont think anyone will) would have to overpay NE needs branch...they are incredibly thin at wr they would have to be getting a deal here this should be in the nfl forum
He hit 998 and (I think) missed a few games. For what he is - an excellent number two receiver - I wouldn't say he's overrated. As a number one, I'd agree. Of the two top Patriots receivers, I'd have prefered shooting for Givens.
I think you're dead on about someone needing to overpay for Branch, which leads me to believe it will be Washington who trades for him.
Absolutely not man. To me I alread see Cotchery as the number 1. He's got the good and will be all pro. Let's not run out and trade for recievers when all we are doing is throwing 6 yd passes.
LOL, I was thinking the same. If namath said he was coming out of retirement there would be some people on here saying we should sign him. About Branch though, I don't want him. He's a good receiver and all but the thought of sending pics to NE...NO THANKS!!
he would be so over valued on the market its not even funny i know hes good and all but when it comes down to it the pats front office gets to decide if eh goes or not i also think if they did let him go it wouldnt be to an AFC east team
Well, the AFC East often passes around players...Bledsoe, Martin, Thurman Thomas, Bryan Cox, Otis Smith, Sam Coward, ........
