Westy is a fantastic coverage coach. But it is a FACT that when it comes to kickers and punters he has made plenty of questionable decisions.

Yet another stubborn move by management. It's like we'd rather prove a point with certain guys on our roster than get the best players we can to get the job done. I'm not sure if Josh Brown is a great kicker, but what I am sure of is tht Nick Folk certainly isnt. Everytime we needed a kick,I cringed. He made some big ones but he also blew some big ones as well. And he's missed some easy shit too.

Here comes the mieading stats and the "every kicker does" comment.

The decision is made...Folk earned the job,now it's time to support the guy.
Stop the bashing - remember he was a pro bowl kicker and he had a major injury.
He's healthy now and he proved he can handle the pressure and the job.

Personally I go with the kicker with the higher field goal % and that is Folk. You are honestly angry at the front office over THAT? I'm not saying he's the best, but when a game's on the line and we need to make a 40+ for the win, I'm going with Folk, easy. That's not a bad decision. Geez, people just attack over nothing these days. It's like the FO can do no good in some people's eyes. Higher percentage means more field goals made on the year. It matters.

Folk won a bunch of games for us over the last couple years.

That's great that it was such a good competition. They needed one considering field goals got a whole lot more important with "Fist Pumping" Sparano calling the shots.. and it's showed in the preseason.

I expect a lot of Jet scores of 9, 12, 15 etc... this fall. I wouldn't be suprised if the Jets lead the league in field goal attempts...Sparano will get his moneys worth with Folk! Hooray!

I 100% agree with this decision. Everyone loves to hate on Folk because he has a tendency to randomly miss on gimme fgs, but he's had a tremendous training camp and was over 10% higher fg% than Brown. He's improved his kickoffs (did you see the preseason games?) and I think he's ready to be consistent in the face of constant ridicule by fans.

Let's focus on our punting situation now!

Question guys...the Ravens released Cundiff due to salary...he's better than both Brown or Folk in my opinion...what do you think?

Despite the hatred on here, Folk is better than anyone we have waived or could reasonably sign. Give the guy a break, he's won yet another training camp shoot out and doesn't shit the bed in play offs.
