I guess when you sign a contract for 96 Million and get owned by Austin Howard you gotta come up with something. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...ams-rails-against-replacement-refs-after-loss Mario Williams rails against replacement refs after loss Mario Williams -- the Buffalo Bills' $96 million man -- barely registered in the box score of Sunday's 48-28 loss to the New York Jets. The Pro Bowl linebacker believes incompetence on the part of replacement referees explains why. "You tell somebody from the very beginning of the game," said Williams, via The Buffalo News. "And it happens. One time, that's on me. But when it's multiple times and I tell you and you honestly act like you don't even hear me throughout the whole game, I think that's a real big problem. "It's not something that's really going to dictate something, but what are you going to do about it? You're getting off the ball and getting punched in the face, literally, not an accident, just about every other time. That's a penalty. Unless they changed it with the new CBA or something, but last time I checked it was a penalty." Williams was matched up against right tackle Austin Howard, who was a backup to former Jet/human turnstile Wayne Hunter just three weeks ago. Jets coach Rex Ryan praised Howard for his work. Williams -- who finished with one tackle -- wouldn't do the same. "Pass blocking doesn't include hands to the face," Williams went on. "When someone tells the officials that, and they just walk away, or they don't call it, that is disheartening." Frustrating day for Williams and the entire Bills team. Given the expectations, Buffalo expects Williams to win his one-on-one battles, regardless of extra hurdles he perceives to be in his way.
And Jets were known to get away with Revis's Pass Interference calls for years now. QQ more, son. At least you will have 100 million dollar to bank on.
I kinda feel bad for Bills fans in a way that Mario was set out to be the savior of the team because I even think the fans up in Buffalo deserve so much better when it comes to the franchise player(s) they have had in the past decade or so. There's a reason the Texans never made the playoffs under Williams' watch(He didn't play much last season) and why he has a grand total of 0 playoff games under his belt. The guy never holds himself accountable, likes to vanish when things don't go his or his teams way and finally when he gets what he was begging for(Back to a 4-3 offense), he then goes onto shit the bed and refuse to do the job he's being paid the huge bucks to do. Mario Williams is becoming the new John Abraham....only Abraham does have some playoff experience under his belt. A one-dimensional crybaby who piles up his sacks and is overpaid while often hurt. Mario Williams....still winless vs the Jets and for a good reason. He's going to have to wait until late December to try and get victory number one vs the Jets in his career.
Mario Williams had 1 1/2 good years out of 5 in Houston. This guy could be the 2nd coming of Pitts Hugh Greene.
If I were a Bills fan, or if the script were flipped, and Williams played for the Jets and had the same results, I wouldn't care. Mario Williams is paid to get by a 320lb octopus with 8 tentacles in his facemask. He didn't beat a guy who wasn't even supposed to start in this league once yesterday, and then decided to blame the refs instead of take responsibility for sucking. You ever hear Revis bitch about officiating or pushing off or whatever if a receiver makes a few catches against him? That's why Revis, and players such as him are great, and Mario Williams is good.
Cause where Jets fans and we beat the shit out of his team and he got owned by a journey man RT. He should dry his eyes with some of his 100 million dollars.
Because I looked at a few plays and I didn't see anything? Williams is a cry baby. He can keep on crying his 96 million dollar ass.
Just asking is all. I thought it was a bullshit thing for him to say, myself...even if he THOUGHT it was true. He can't fight back or overcome it? Seems like nothing but an excuse to make himself feel better about the game. We are talking about Howard. I DID see it happen a couple of times, but it's not like I was watching Mario the whole time, as he did nothing this game. To tell the truth, I was trying to advert my eyes...but it's hard to look away from a train-wreck. On a side note, I do not like refs...the replacements are WORSE. Can't remember which game I was watching, but it seems like I waited 10 minutes for the refs to decide that a play that was challenged was not challengable.
And the bills got a free spiller TD run from a blown holding call seeing eye dog would've flagged. Were even. Furthermore if Williams was getting hit in the head he shoulde mean joe greened howards ass. Least that'd be my response if he were a jet. Lineman will do whatever they can get away with both OL and DL. Its not like howard did this all game, ill go back and watch tomorrow. And get back to this though. Either way, howard should be called the Prestige, because he makes DL dissappear from the box score.
Bills excuses already starting... mario williams bitching about how he got shafted by the refs leading him to only have one tackle... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...ams-rails-against-replacement-refs-after-loss
The only time I heard Mario Williams have his name called was when Gannon or Albert said "I don't think we've had to call Mario Williams' name all game."
Mario is on the end .. visible to the ref the entire game... not hidden in the interior of the line in a crowd. I watched some highlights and saw Howard get solid hands on the snap up to the chest and shoulders...really controlled Williams at the point of attack. Just had his way with him all day. Were their hands to the face - I am sure on some plays there were for every offensive lineman in football that weren't called yesterday.
This...Howard looked really good yesterday. If he continues like this, then the RTquestion has been answered.
Nigga please... I was outraged watching the game yesterday bc of calls that went the other way.....Spillers first big TD run, Wilkerson gets tackled in the backfield. Jets wideout gets hit late OOB. Personally I like the move, be ause it removes the over litigious nature of the modern NFL. Play like men, bitches.
