Larry Johnson, this team needs some attitude, and this angry talented back is about to see his career ruined under the new coaching regime in KC.
how the hell can you guys choose reggie bush over LT Tomlinson had over 100 catches in 03 (or 04) LT can do it all and hes shown he can in the NFL all reggies shown is that he can do it in college
I'm surprised I'm the first to say it but Steve Hutchinson. Throw the best left guard on the line with Mangold , D Brick and our line would be set. Just look at what Alexander and Hassleback have done the last few years with Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson. The other player would be Antoine Winfield as I think he is the best CB in the game although I hate him for what he did to us. Then again his wife knew this was a sinking ship and she talked him out playing here.
He's younger, faster and0 more elusive. The large majority of those passes LT caught that season caught that season were dump off passes. He caught 100 balls and had I think only a little bit more than 700 yards. Bush can line up as a WR in the slot or on the LOS and catch the ball downfield better than most of the WRs already on the squad. Bush can also return punts and kicks. If I have to pick just one player in the NFL, for my money it has to be him because I can use him in so many ways. It's like have 5 players in 1. Even if Bush does not become the dominant player he was in college, it still doesn't change the fact that he is a versatile player that brings a lot to a team. Lastly, don't fall into the ESPN trap of overrating LT, Tiki Barber has put up equal if not better numbers than LT the last 3 years but yet ESPN would have you believe that LT is head and shoulders above all RBs in this league. He's great but he's not the only one out there.
Vince Wilfork, Alan Faneca, or LDT would all do nicely. Vince because of the waste that our NT spot is, Faneca because he'd do well next to Ferguson as far as anchoring whatever run game we'll try to have, and LDT because he's run behind plenty of crap lines and been fairly effective.
One more thing. If we know anything about Mangini, it's that he likes versatility. I can imagine a scenario where our CB corps gets depleted by injuries and Mangini walks up to Bush and says, "hey, have you ever played corner?".
Carson Palmer. Up and coming star QB. That's a good start for any franchise, let alone a cursed NY Jets.
