Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora Jets intent to sign a RB today. Working them out. Steve Slaton and Khalil Bell among them. Slaton played for OC Tony Sparano in Mimai
Slaton was pretty good up until that fumble issue he had in 2009. Both could be solid additions, especially Slaton (if he can return to form). They are looking for someone to catch passes out of the back-field it looks like. Bell and Slaton are far better at that department
Hey played for Sparano in Miami he must be "Good", Sparano is a future hall of famer, he is one of the best offense coaches in NFL history
slaton was very good his first year or second year. then just disappeared off the face of the earth. he was with houston and then just poof never to be heard from again. hey neither of these guys can be worse than what we are working with at this point. shit if they could just block on 3rd down and maybe leak out every now and again and make some yards after sanchez throws the ball behind them they would be doing great.
I'd like Slaton more, more speed, decent hands in the passing game...I'd def take a flier on him...need some gamebreakers...
I think Mark could run that better than what they are doing now. (No I didn't miss where you are going with this)
We should sign Pat White while were at it. Bench Sanchez, run the triple double QB option with Pat White and Tim Tebow (whatever the hell that is - I just made it up). BOUND TO WORK!
Some of you guys should do some more research, Slaton is known to cough up the football...just ask a Texan Fan.
If Slaton is so good, why did Ryan Moats start over him? Why did the Texans and Dolphins cut him??? Jet fans have a short memory, I recall Slaton fumbling opening game vs the Jets a few years back, the guy has no focus. Slaton isn't going to change the Jet's problems, he would be a stopgap till Mcknight is healthy.
Slaton was good about 4 years ago. he still has fumbling issues. If I had to pick between the two, Bell would be the safer bet.
