    Didn't see this anywhere.

    Found on KFFL:

Jets | Team could move Coles
    Sat, 2 Sep 2006 06:41:12 -0700

John Clayton, of ESPN, reports the New York Jets could possibly trade WR Laveranues Coles in an effort to upgrade their wide-receiver position. Clayton expects the Jets to be a very busy team this weekend.
    ===

What the hell? Coles is our best receiver. Who the hell are we going to get? If they were thinking Branch, he is not an upgrade....

Yeah I saw this. It is interesting. I doubt it would be for Branch. Coles on the Patriots would be horrible.

    What in the hell? Why?

He's one of our better receivers and they want to trade him?

I understand that a new regime wants their players, and want to overhaul the roster to where it's to their liking...

But trading Coles? It'd be better for a stud WR, or i'd be very disappointed.

That would not make any sense at all. Why would they want to trade away our best WR in order to "upgrade their wide-receiver position"?

Coles has done some complaining to the media during camp. This is one of the reasons Mangini got rid of Mawae because he knew he would complain as well.

I would hate to see this because Pennington and Coles have such good chemistry together.

i think Coles will stay but if Branch somehow gets brought in here, look for Coles to be shipped soon thereafter.

    Dont trade Coles damn it!

i think we need to hold on to a # 1 WR that isnt complaining about the team or chads arm

it might be hard to find another good WR who is willing to leave his team for this one (even though money can do alot of things)

Trading Coles would be retarded... unless they scored something HUGE for him, which they won't

i'd trade coles for a first rounder...the 49ers first rounder would be great: guaranteed top 10 pick.

There are three reasons that I can think of for trading Coles:

    1. He's the prototypical disgruntled vet regardless of where he lands. He wanted out of NY bad bad then wanted out of Washington bad and is probably working on wanting out of NY bad again.

    2. The new regime probably wants to see a lot of Kellen Clemens this year, especially if things turn bad in October. In that situation Coles is the last person they want making veiled references to how the team's best shot is with Chad.

    3. Coles is just a good receiver right now not a great one. If they could get Branch for Coles even up it would be a steal. The pop in the offense would return with Branch and Cotchery lined up instead of Coles and McCareins.

Trading him for a draft pick would be crazy.

Then what would our WR's look like?
    1.Cotchery 2.McCareins (might be gone soon too) 3.Dwight 4.Smith 5.Newhouse?

    Yikes!

I would prefer Coles over Branch too.

obviously we wouldnt make that move unless we had another guy set to come in

and yes, i would perfer coles over branch also........but i would perfer branch and a top 10 pick over coles

DAMMIT - I hope we dont make a move on a reciever over 5' 9". That would be horrible.

By the way Chad throws (overthrows) – we could be one bad ass team if we could find a 9 ft receiver,
