GAWD I hope not...the only ones so far that I would love if we picked up would be petiti and watts. Rogers would not fit in here, he got cut by the lions people. That right there should tell you to stay away.

Actually all it tells you is that the lions are obscenely deep at WR and Rogers is chronically injured

Packers | Bigby released Sat, 2 Sep 2006 15:29:22 -0700 The Green Bay Packers have released S Atari Bigby. I still get a giggle over his mom naming him "Atari"
I wouldn't mind taking a look at Calico Pettiti or Lavalais...if Omar Jacobs clears waivers he'd be a nice ps addition too.
Tampa: cut 21 players, including former third-round draft pick Marquis Cooper, wide receiver Edell Shepherd and offensive lineman Toniu Fonoti. In all, six of the players released were draft picks from the past three years. Other players released were tight end Mark Anelli, defensive end Charles Bennett, defensive tackle Jon Bradley, defensive tackle Anthony Bryant, safety Steve Cargile, offensive lineman Jonathan Clinkscale, running back Carey Davis, cornerback Dwight Ellick, wide receiver Chas Gessner, offensive lineman Scott Jackson, tight end Tim Massaquoi, safety Donte Nicholson, cornerback James Patrick, fullback Rick Razzano, linebacker Anthony Trucks, running back Derek Watson, defensive end Andrew Williams and defensive lineman Keith Wright. Free agent acquisition Torrin Tucker was placed on injured reserve. The offensive lineman has been bothered by an arthritic knee throughout the preseason. In addition to Cooper, other draft picks released were Bennett (2006 seventh round), Bryant (2005 sixth round), Massaquoi (2006 seventh round), Nicholson (2005 fifth round), Razzano (2005 seventh round).
How do the waivers work? How long does it take to go through waivers? I can't see us passing on Rogers if he gets to us ... seems like a steal if he works out, and no loss if he doesn't.
If you are a vested vet, you are a FA immediately. If not, 1 day.. tomorrow 6pm I believe guys can be put on the PS or signed by other teams
4 full seasons of accured service = "vested vet" = free agent once cut between 2/1/06 and the trading deadline (not subject to waivers)
I can't wait to see what the front office is going to do in this mayhem. Considering what they were doing leading up to this, I bet Mangini can't even freaking sleep.
The Packers cut Najeh Davenport. That would be a nice pickup for the Jets but if they did pick him up that means that Cedric Houston will probably get cut. Also i didnt think the Jets would cut Andre Maddux and Ray Mickens.
