First off, I am no cap guru - just some thoughts on a possible option for the JETS. This is all speculation and would only be relevant if the Titans were to release him. Titans have not mentioned they would release him, it is a possibility, even if its a small one.

Its obvious this team needs a player maker on offense, someone with explosiveness and the ability to make the big run. Shonn Greene is too slow, has no big play threat, not a good blocker and not a good pass catcher.

I believe his new contract was something along the lines of $57 million over 6 years (someone can double check the contract details). I recall someone mentioning the Titans have the ability to release him sometime next year and avoid the cap hit.

I am not sure of our cap and whether we have the space to perhaps make him an offer, nor do I know what sort of money he would be looking to get. All I know is, he could be a good addition for this team. His production has slowly declined. How much of that is related to poor offensive line play or lack of touches, I don't know. Hes still a good RB, a big play threat in both the running game and the pass game.

I am sure every JETS fan fully knows how fast this man really is (94 yard TD).

Even if CJ were released ... he won't be cheap.

Reggie Bush may be an alternative option for you guys though

I like CJ, but he would be too much. We could get a playmaker like that, but in the draft. the reason why we don't have one is because we always draft power backs. Dolphins got Lamar Miller in the 3rd, that kid is going to be a beast. 1st round talent but dropped.

I would rather sign Reggie Bush as a 3rd down back, just like how we used LT when he was with the Jets.

We'd all be interested but the Jets don't have the cap space.

Last night CJ had a bad game. Take away the 94 yard run and he averaged less than 2 yards a carry.

The main reason I think Bush will be available ... They have a similar skill set and both are lacking in pass protection. Miller comes cheaper and younger unfortunately for Bush, who has been a class act and a joy to watch.

Bush would be a good change of pace with Greene if that happened.

We also stacked the box much of the game. Reggie Bush is intriguing as well. This offense needs a play maker immediately. We are wasting away talent as the years go on.

He would go back to being CJ2YPC if the jets somehow miraculously had money and signed him.

If we are going to continue to play games without a NFL QB a player like Johnson could be a game changer for us. He has the ability to break any lay for a TD and to force defenses into 8 men in the box most of the game. With the defense we had this year we could win with Johnson and our OL regardless who the QB is. A player like Johnson could have added 3+ wins.

i believe the jets should go after Chris Johnson. It gives them a very good home run hitter at HB and can be a very good compliment to Greene. My other words of wisdom should come in the form of coaching. Sparano is not that great of a coordinator, In MIA he had an OC calling plays.

His last postion was O-Line coach for Dallas so i would start by drafting an O-line postion, Preferably guard or RT. From there you build your Defense. The Injuries killed us with Revis, Keller, and Holmes. Imagine this for next season. Holmes, Keller, Edwards, Hill and CJ2K. To some that could be a great Offense, but the lack of good plays is what is killing them. If you continue to use Sanchez then "dumb" down his control. Do what PITT did with Big Ben his first 2 seasons. Run Heavy, with Play action passing. The run opens up the games where he throws for 250+ yards.

GM needs to improve his desicions this offseason and aquire CJ2K first and foremost.

I highly doubt he would perform any worse than Shonn Greene, who is a far from a franchise back or future back.

If CJ was the missing piece to a Super Bowl run then yeah, sign him. But obviously we're far from that so no need to waste money. Next year is a rebuilding year.

I can't see Reggie Bush coming to the Jets. I wouldn't mind but I don't see it.

If Bush and the Jets can get past their bad blood, then a Powell/Bush combo could be absolutely lethal (I'm assuming that Greene wouldn't be retained if they went after Bush. Let Powell wear down the defense, then bring in Bush for the home run.

Only if that QB didn't turn it over 5x per game. Rex Ryan style field position football is shattered by the turnover, which is why I think the Jets will succeed a lot more with a guy like Mcelroy who can protect the football and play smart, even if he isn't throwing 60 yard bombs.
