You guys have to kill the door and gloom. This upcoming season parallels Manginis first year. Injures cost Herm his job, Penny comes back, and Mangenious is born. New OC, healthy skills ayers and a full draft is worth 3/4 wins. We won 6 with shit on the offensive side of the ball.
We are going to see how truly great Rex Ryan is at defenses this year. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Keep in mind, how often do the free agency champs become Super Bowl champs? If we stick to low priced second tier vets all the better. Patch holes, draft for the future, build long term plans while constructing a short term roster. Mike T was done in by a deadly combination of things. An occasional trade up for a player is a good thing. Several times in a row over several different drafts kills depth. Then you add in big money contracts with very big guarantees. You've killed long term depth while handcuffing you short term. Many may see this offseason as doom and gloom, I see a badly needed rebirth from a organizational philosophy standpoint. This is a good thing. It's like having a bone reset, it hurts like hell at first, but it heals much better that way.
I don't think so at all. I think all the right moves are being made. Get rid of the older guys who are demanding a good amount of money, clear the cap, and draft young hungry talent. I think with the right picks, we could make a great impact
that sucks big time. pouha and devito gone. revis on his way out and the dolphins talking with wallace. tanny really got the last laugh.
As I said...between Injuries and Sparano...they won 6 with shit on the offensive side of the ball. Healthy, as currently constituted, this is a 9 win team. Before the Draft.
So...does this mean that the Jets will have no run defense next year? Do we have any person ell for stopping the run?
We had no run defense last year. We finished 26th overall I run D. of the players we have lost so far, Pouha could barley stay on the feild, Thomas missed a lot of time, Scott was limited and saw reduced time, only Pace and Devito were decent full time front seven run defenders. DeVito mainly played DE in 3 man fronts and DT in four man fronts. Guess what, we happen to have Wilk and Coples who both fill the same role and add a pass rush to the position as well. Where we are hurting is saftey and OLB right now. Saftey I see as the problem. OLB should get better by adding young bodies as both Pace and Thomas slowed a bunch last year.
Oh stop whinning you women. Take your head out of the sand, the new GM is not over paying for anyone and its time to let guys go . I am not going to kill myself over losing Pohua and Devito. Both are fat and injured all the time. We need to get young and fast. Who's going whine when Grenne, Moore and Keller go, I will personally hold the door for them
I'm not crying about this one.... Frankly I wasn't impressed with Devito. Solid player, nothing special.
solid player, good guy, not surprised. not sure why we have fans on here whining and crying about this - hilariously the same folks who wanted a new GM. It comes w/the territory and was totally expected.
If Devito's name were Ngata this would be upsetting. Since it isn't, we can likely plug in another guy and get similar production.
Haha, look at all the drama drag Queens in here. You must be the same people who welled up over danny woodhead. How do you people watch the news without curling up into a ball? I hope ur the same people saying they won't be fans if mevis is traded. Devito, good luck, hold the door for these other emotional retards to follow (hopefully soon). Good luck Mike, as another poster mentioned 1 dimensional player time to move on to bigger and better players.
