I could care less about what Espns "March" rankings are. How are you gonna make rankings before the draft and training camp. They just hate the Jets like everyone else. Man it would be the greatest season ever if we had a big surprsie year and ran the table in the playoffs, What a story that would be
aren't we always better when no one expects anything from us? yeah, rex loves it when everyones a hater. also now there is no pressure, which i think might seriously help the team
By the end of last year we were with out Revis, Thomas, and Pouha. We will be missing the saftys. McIntyre, who replaced Tomas is still around. Pace played a ton, but was not the most effective player. Scott played just over 50 % of the snaps and was limited when he played. We turn two corners who started most of the year for the 8th ranked pass defense. Or run defense was shit, I doubt it gets much worse. Things are in flux for sure, but like my first divorce, just because things are changing, does not mean things are getting worse.
Many here are shocked there are rankings this early, but teams are 90% set, FA is 90% over, and 90% of rookies don't even play. So what the hell, let the rankings begin. It's kinda fun and gives us even more to bitch about. As far as the rankings, I bet the Pats are more pissed a #8 then the Jets are at #31!!!!
I'm shocked at the optimism on this board. We had a soft schedule last year. Maybe they're the 27th best team in the league. Does that make everyone happier?
Do you have anything to back up your 90% figures or did you pull those out of thin air? FTR, I do think the Jets will be in the bottom half of the league next year.
Uhhhh you do realize most round 1 rookies will play and the good picks will play and contribute meaningfully to a team. The last place team in the March 2012 rankings was the IND colts. Surprisingly, I believe 90% of their rookies played and they made the playoffs
Yeah I agree. Too many folks on here are extremists and just over react to everything that happens. People already discounting the Jets even before the draft are being ridiculous. We had a lot of injuries last year, but people just ignore it and think it means the Jets will automatically suck this year. At least give it a chance to see how the draft and QB competition goes. People are too negative and love to predict doom and gloom, like they do every year. The only year I didn't hear doom and gloom predictions was 2010.
How do you place the Jets below a team that just fired their 50 million dollar franchise QB, with 24 M guaranteed. Just asking footballGOD..,
"Johnny Football turns this franchise around. It's as simple as that." "Ryan Leaf turns this franchise around. It's as simple as that." "Akili Smith turns this franchise around. It's as simple as that." "Jamarcus Russel turns this franchise around. It's as simple as that." "Alex Smith turns this franchise around. It's as simple as that." "Tim Couch turns this franchise around. It's as simple as that." "David Carr turns this franchise around. It's as simple as that." I keep hearing how those top drafted QBs can turn a franchise around....
Well you're not hearing about those other QB's from me. I'm only talking about Johnny Football and he will be a star in the NFL. If you don't like him then so be it.
A franchise QB will turn your franchise around, and it is as simple as that. As you pointed out, finding one isn't as simple as taking a QB high in the draft. IMO You can add Sanchez to that list as well. Things are different now. With the new rookie wage scale it won't set you back 5 years if your QB is a bust. I don't think there are any franchise QBs in this years draft, but we definitely need to take a shot in next years draft.
