Here we go again........... Haha I like how Dirty6Sanchez says Rangers in 5 or 6 like he hasn't seen these teams play before. The Caps offense is back. That is bad news for the Rangers. Last year Dale Hunter preached defense. This year Adam Oates has let it rip. Thats how the Caps beat the Rangers the first 2 playoff match-ups. I still think it goes 6 or 7.
2-0-1 against the Caps in the regular season. You can say their offense is back, but they haven't play a defense nearly as good as ours lately.
From a pure entertainment perspective it kind of blows to see the Caps again in the playoffs. Still excited for the playoff games though.
That's all good and well but they've played nobody in the last three weeks and still have manged a mere 47% fenwick close. In other words, they're a terrible puck possession team. I'm not totally convinced that, against a solid defensive team with one of the better goaltenders on this planet between the pipes, they're going to find much success. Also, in three games you've scored a whopping 4 regulation goals on us, and that was before Hank started stealing games like he's been doing of late. We'll see if I'm full of shit, obviously, but I feel the Rangers are the better team.
Nothing wrong with feeling that way. Going into the season I had the Rangers ranked #1 in the East and wasn't sure the Caps could make the playoffs.
