holmes is the puzzle. he is our only proven offensive weapon. without him it won't matter who's playing qb, our offensive will falter.
holmes plays week 1. book it, the media has taken the statement that he can start the season on the pup and are running with it. it is very common for players coming off surgery to start on the pup. its the doom and gloom driving the news around this team making it sound worse than it is. holmes hill kerley at the top of the d.c against tampa. no worries
I hope he'll be ready for the season opener. If he is ready to play in Foxboro week 2 then I'm calling a Jets win in NE on that Thursday night game. Sent from my Galaxy S4 via Tapatalk

David Harris at #5. So far so good. I'm excited to see how far up Cromartie & Wilks are in the top 5 and whether Costello will keep his love affair with Mangold at #1. Wilks and Cromartie had the biggest impact on our team last season out of anybody, so they should be 1 & 2, but who knows. I see Dabrick at #4, Mangold at 3, Wilks at 2 and Cro at 1.
3 of the Jets top 4 are 29 or older. That's not so good for a rebuilding team. It's a further indication that we're not going to recognize the 2015 roster at all from where we stand right now. The most likely top 10 in 2015 looks something like this: 1. Mo Wilkerson 2. Dee Milliner 3. Geno Smith 4. Sheldon Richardson 5. Jeremy Kerley 6. Quinton Coples 7. Somebody we've never heard of 8. Ditto 9. Ditto 10. Ditto
Yawn. The Jets aren't a rebuilding team. They have a few important offensive positions they are rebuilding, but most of the good players from D are back. The rookies weren't included on this list and a lot of the young players are ranked lower.. for now. It's not nearly as grim as you are painting it to be. I guess we should just trade in Mangold and Ferguson for draft picks. You really think they are gone next year?
At the moment the Jets have no QB, no outside WR's worth anything, no RB's proven to be able to carry a load, no TE that they can say with any certainty can stay healthy or for the healthy ones are capable of making plays. The two best players on the offense are both offensive linemen who are nearing 30. I don't really care what the defense looks like, Bad News Bears on offense will always keep a team down and the Jets are either rebuilding or likely to be rebuilding the entire offense over the next few seasons. The scariest thing about Mark Sanchez playing QB this year is that D'Brick and Mangold are both 30 next year.
You know what, though? If Geno Smith is a top-3 player in 2015, I'll be immensely happy. You can't do anything in this league without a franchise qb. Everything else can come through the draft and free agency, and usually comes quickly.
The Jets lack frontline impact players at the offensive skill positions..but are deep w/ contributors. If one of the RB's steps up(Very possible w/ the potential there) they are a #1 WR, #1 TE & a competent QB away from having a very capable offensive unit. W/ a good amount of draft ammo in what is shaping up to be a skill heavy class & more than sufficient cap space the Jets could easily find solutions for those holes as early as next spring. Meanwhile they'll already have several complimentary pieces in place as well as a deep OL unit primed for future success.
Not including the worst QB in the NFL, name the 2000 Super Bowl Champs Baltimore Ravens' starting offense. tic....tic....tic
The 2000 Ravens had a great Hall of Fame LT, meaning 4 time All-Pro and 11 time Pro Bowler, a Hall of Fame TE and a rookie RB who went for 1300+ yards on his way to 2000 a couple of seasons later. Then they had that defense including 2 Hall of Famers. They had 4 Hall of Famers on the field for them that year including 2 on the offense.
I'm optimistic on Geno. He reminds me a lot of Chad in terms of what he's likely to bring to the table. Better arm not quite as cerebral but probably very productive when the Jets get him fitted into the system.
Too low for Wilkerson. He should have made the pro bowl last year. He was ranked the #2 3-4 DE in the league by multiple sources, and even fantasy points had him as #2 out of ALL DEs (not just 3-4). No doubt Wilks became my favorite Jet last season and I will be keeping a close eye on him this year. Our line is going to be deadly this year.
They didn't have the worst QB in the league, they had a very good QB who they wouldn't have won that SB w/o even as great as their D was(top 3 in SB era).
If Geno is ranked 3rd and Rex is still here we'll be a perennial superbowl contender. I rarely agree with you but I do agree on this. The only guy I could possibly see ranked above Wilk at this point would be Cro and I wouldn't do that.
