I do like Braylon but there was a reason that nobody has signed him up until now. It really sucks that he is an upgrade over what the Jets have now (Gates, One Footed Holmes). Unfortunately, without Holmes healthy Hill will need to step up or Braylon will be the second receiver.
the jets appear to have no real gamebreakers but at least they'll be ok with the short game, i suspect. gotta start somewhere.
Just happy to have him on the team again, He really loved being a JET and I wish him all the luck. Cant wait to here the news from Idzik. Go Jets
I always think back to this video when I see that Braylon video. Welcome back Braylon
I don't think anyone can justify calling this a bad move. There isn't a single legitimate reason, unless you just don't like Braylon as a person. He loves being here, he helps in a big area of need, he's cheap. What's there to not like? He's going to take away precious snaps from our youth at WR, which is just bursting at the seams?
What Braylon brings to the table is a reliable route runner, a guy that can go up and make tough catches, some veteran presence for the youngsters to learn from especially Hill and someone Geno can confine in. I see no negatives at all and Braylon isn't even that old.
Route running is going to be huge. WCO offense relies on some quick, short timing routes. Having that security blanket is a nice way for a young QB to gain some confidence.
That's why I wouldn't have minded if we signed Austin Collie despite his concussion history. Guy is a pretty good route runner.
They would have to be signed in order to stick ... for that matter the same can be said of Braylon. Not officially signed yet. Now I believe there would need to be additional cuts to fit Braylon or either of the other two. Who is on the outs?
