Rex brings enough positives to the table for him to stay...a lot of the negativity thrown at Rex is media driven as he's piled up a ton of haters and such. The fanbase as a whole isnt demanding for him to be fired... Sanchez on the other hand...you cannot blame Jets fans for wanting a change from a guy who clearly doesn't have it. There just hasnt been any improvement or anything he does really well for us to continue to play him.
Sanchez has shown improvement though and was smacked hard with the fact that this team has been lacking severe playmakers on offense. We still don't have the best playmakers but I'm optimistic that we finally have an OC that will work to what strengths this offense does have, instead of forcing plays that just shouldn't have been attempted given our offensive weapons. I don't care who was under center the past couple years (especially last year), they would've struggled heavily as well. I think that Sanchez deserves to be the starter if he earned it throughout the offseason, which it appears to be the case. Sanchez finally has a scheme that works to his natural strengths, so I'm optimistic that we see good things from him consistently this year. I'm hoping for the best, I'm hoping Sanchez can still overcome everything and turn into the QB we all need him to be. Only time will tell.
I agree. He should have the next 2 years unless this year is a disaster. The reason rex gets all the hate and fans want him out is bc he set the bar so high in his first 2 years. If we miss the playoffs his first year going say 8-8, lose to the pats in the playoffs next year and go 8-8 and 6-10 (under horrible and unlucky circumstances) the next seasons i think he has less heat on him. The problem is we've really gone down hill after such a promising start.
Sanchez's performance last year is extremely embarrassing. Overall, it's not as bad...he was masked by the defense and running game. That being said, I would be extremely surprised if he doesn't turn the ball over on Saturday
if he throws a pick 6 ill be mute for the remainder of the month and will put kate upton as my avatar for the whole NFL season.
so when someone saids Kate Upton, the picture of boobs pop in your head? IF that's the case ill just post her face but since you killed the joke idk what ill do.
they have made 3 postseasons in the last 4 years including winning a div title in the toughest division in football and they have a team capable of a deep playoff run this year. Whatever their reasons they stuck w/ him and it is paying off/
I know you will never get over Tebow not getting the starting job. He looked so good in that NE preseason game it is a wonder why Rex would not start him.
It's scary that there is enough of a bad past from Sanchez that you have to think about this. I'm going no, but it would be spectacular in a bad way if he threw another one.
They lost in the postseason 3 times in the wildcard round. However, their team has experience under their belt. I'll give them that. But they need to stop losing Houston...
The last couple years I start the season hoping the light will go on in Sanchez's head and he'll prove the doubters wrong. With a new OC, a real one, not that tard we had last year, I'm hoping this new system will turn that light on. If there was a Sanchez drinking game and we had to take a shot after each turnover, we'd all be alcoholics by now.
I think he'll throw a pick. Probably not a pick 6. Question is, how stupid will this thread look if the guy looks good? I'm not expecting him to turn any pages this season, but if you just expect him to completely melt down in preseason against one of the worst franchises on the planet... Maybe you should hedge your bets against the possibilities.
Guys wanted Rex fired because we prefer a coach to give a shit about both sides of the ball On top of that a coach who want shrug of his QBs horrific play yet calls out a rookie and says shit like brutal yet Sanchez gets the we have to take better care of the ball BS I for one am sick of that shit and hope he just lets MM control the O and doesn't force feed Sanchez down our throat too long this year
I got Sanchez in for a tough day Jags secondary is better than Detroits while Detroits front is better than Jax 50% completion percentage No TDs 4 3 and outs 1 horrible interception on a comeback or slant
You lost me when you had Sanchez playing 4 drives. I have passing 1TD to either a TE or FB on a long opening drive, a drive that goes for two first downs before a pick, and a drive starting in Jax territory that ends in a Chris Ivory TD off the left side. Plus, it's pretty funny that you have four 3-and-outs and still a 50% completion percentage. You say that the Detroit front is better than Jax, but apparently there is no possibility of a running game. Did you even think before you made that post?
"No. He will improve upon the practice." Huh? Zach, your use of the English language continues to be strangely entertaining. As to the topic, I would honestly be surprised if Sancho doesn't throw a pick 6 this week. At this point it just feels inevitable every time he takes the field...
