30 years ago I was at the jet giant game-----at end of game giants line up for a long game winning fg

kyle Clifton--on jet defense runs up----jumps on the back of a jet d lineman reaches up and knocks the ball away

refs call it unsportsman like penalty-----giants move 15 yards closer and kick the winning fg

IT TOOK 30 YEARS BUT I GOT PAYBACK TIME

    anyone else at that game????

Pay back didn't happen within the first decade of that happening. It didn't happen the second decade of it happening. But third time's the charm! Lol. Agreed, nice story.

Giants did not even give their "Great" fans a little chance by winning at least 1 or 2 games this season. That is karma for their cheap SB wins. Eli looking worse than Geno who is a rookie this season.

was that a preseason game? Kyle Clifton played in 3 reg season Jet-Giant games:

    1987: lost 20-7
    1988: won 27-21
    1993: won 10-6

either way, that jumping on a teammates back or using them for leverage to jump has been a rule for a long time.

Penalty aside we completely outplayed the patriots in every phase of the game except maybe special teams, we earned that win. Held Brady to no TDs and a pick, 1/13 on 3rd downs. Outrushed them by 100+ yards. Won the T.O.P by like 20+ minutes. Well earned victory in my opinion.

One of my favorite stats from the game: Brady 48% completion rate

    I was there.

If I recall correctly, this game was played late in the '84 season, and I remember the play, but it occurred early in the game. The FG was kicked and actually was good. Clifton's penalty (he was a rookie that year) gave the Giants a first down. Parcells took the points off the board, which was unheard of in those days. Of course they went on to score a TD and they won the game 20-10, I believe. It was one of the earliest examples I can recall of Parcells having great success when making unorthdox moves.

I forgot he was a rookie in '84 but either way the original post was confused as the game didn't come down to a last second FG and we were never really in that giant game falling behind 17-0 and 20-3 before losing 20-10.

I am 74----don't remember all the details of the game except the penalty against Clifton

thanks for refreshing my memory-----on every fg since then I always look to see if there are any odd ball penalties

jets have had so many other penalties called against them over the years that cost us the game

we outplayed the pats----top 45 mins to 23 mins------no td passes for brady----under 50% in passes---out ran them by 80 yards-----all this with many of our offensive weapons out----santonio---kellen winslow---mike goodson antwan barnes-----jets did great deserved the big win----no one gave us a chance-------almost won first game in boston that Thursday nite
