We need him activated; maybe he could be our 'answer' at running back. How serious is this injury? Lets go already!

Mangini is missing the boat on this one.?????

    Blaylock needs to be de-activated.....

He's the worse. Should never have been signed by Jets'. He might do ok on the EAgles.

so he is injured? (nobodys told me exactly what inactive means) in that case why was clemens inactive? i hope hes not injured.

on houston, i really hope he gets a role sooner or later. the one thing hes got on all the other backs is YAC, which is exactly what we need since theres not to great a holes to run through.

There's just no way in hell Mangini can let Blaylock keep the starting job. I hope we trade him out of here some way and soon. Start Barlow and get Houston back in there.

Yeap. We need Barlow and Houston to wear out the opposition D. Blaylock can be used for change of speed in the mid/late third quarter. Blaylock can not be our starter.

Houston isnt hurt, Mangini doesnt want to play him because Houston doesn't play special teams. Yet everytime this kid steps on the field he runs hard and looks solid. Give the kid a chance, I want to see Cedric Houston next week!

Even Leberfeld on MSG said Why isn't Cedric Houston out there getting a fair chance. We need him to break tackles and get a chance to give the O-Line some help.

Belichick was an arse for not even shaking hands at the end of the game with Mangini. Belichick needs to find the emotion chip. Still just some bad drops as well as the Pats good defense stopping us. But still the Jets shot themselves in the foot once again, but this is still a young team and maybe they can find a way to stop the Bills.

He hurt his chances by fumbling in pre-season

I really hope C Mart comes back. Not only is he the best back we got right now (even with one knee) but he's such an underrated blocker which can only help with pass protection.

I'd say give Houston a chance, has he been in EM's doghouse or something? Why hasn't he played?

This is what I was thinking, that and some poor blocking. Which is a shame because his rushing is definately superior to Blaylock, maybe with some decent coaching this can be remedied.

His blocking wasn't helped by the fact that he also had Marko Cavka in front of him.

Until we get the run blocking fixed, we could have Jim Brown in the backfield, we're not going to be successful running the football.

He'll likely be activated for the Buffalo Game (story in the post under "notes")

Barlow funmbled too in pre-season. I think there is some other reason CH is not in there, but I will be disappointed if he is not in the game against Buffalo.

Well, let's look at our four HBs.

    1. Barlow: Most accomplished of the 4, though he hasn't done that much. Outplaying Blaylock on offense. Doesn't do specials.
    2. Blaylock: Been awful so far, but he plays specials as a lead blocker on returns.
    3. Washington: Only one carry, where he got swallowed up. Plays specials, but we also have Cotchery and Miller who can do it.

That leaves Houston. Less accomplished than Barlow, and is he enough of an upgrade over Blaylock to have him play a lot? Washington isn't really in the TB plans so far.

Houston might be an upgrade over one of the top 3, but I doubt it, or if he is, I don't know if he's enough of an upgrade to lose Blaylock or Washington on specials. Houston and Barlow are in the same boat as power backs that don't really play specials, and out of the two, I'd rather have Barlow. Better RB, IMO, and he can block better.

The big problem is with the run blocking so far, anyway. If Cedric Houston was the answer, he would have played better in preseason. I'd love it if he could prove me wrong, but I doubt he's a starting RB in this league.
