& now think about that statement & guess who is still employed by the NYJs why none other then a fellow named Terry Bradway. Is that the same fellow U reference? See now U are beginning to see how poorly run Woody' NYJ organization is
This team is not a good team and will not be one until we have a new HC who knows about football, not just one aspect of it. Rex is a DC not a HC and should be gone.
That's exactly who I was talking about Sherlock. How the fuk did you know?! Idzik should purge the front office before the coaches IMO
This is going to sound really funny given what happened but I think Gholston was the only clear good use of a high pick that the Jets made from 2007 to 2010. He blew chunks and he was a bust but there wasn't much else to do on that pick for the Jets. The 2008 draft just looks really bad at the top after Matt Ryan who got taken on the 3. Darren McFadden, Glenn Dorsey, Vernon Gholston, Sedrick Ellis and Derrick Harvey went from 4 to 9 and not a star in the bunch and very few starters. 2007 was the trade ups for Revis and Harris, both of which contributed to the bad depth chart in 2011 to 2013. 2008 was Gholston and then the trade up for Keller who clearly was not worth trading back into the 1st round for. 2009 was the 3 pick wipe out. 2010 was a 4 pick disaster with a slot CB taken in the 1st round. Just a horrible run both in terms of talent evaluation and draft strategy.
I see you got in your RR shot, but isn't the fact that we'll be at or almost .500 with our dearth of talent a testament to the great job the coach has done? It's either the coach or the players, man.
Haha thinking about it, you might be right. The trade ups just look really bad in retrospect, especially 2009 right now
Remember we led the league in Pro Bowlers in 2008... and missed the playoffs. It's below meaningless. Frankly I'm amazed that Mr. Super Bowl or Nothing started this thread.
No, it means absolutely nothing. The Pro Bowl is a popularity contest. Anything that involves fan voting is a popularity contest. We have 3 defensive lineman who are absolute beasts, and have played like it this year. Could care less if they go to the Pro Bowl.
True story. They picked 75, we picked 77. It makes you wonder though if the Jets were gunna pull the trigger if he was there. Nevertheless, we could have had him in the 2nd round instead of Hill.
Also could have had Alshon Jefferey who went 2 picks after Hill. Imagine if we could have had Wilson and Jefferey instead of Sanchez/Geno and Hill? The "what if" game haha, so tormenting...
Bradway was an awful GM, but is supposedly a very knowledgeable and good evaluator of talent. He is supposedly widely respected in NFL circles, and I've seen several articles over the years where several of the Jets best players were drafted due to Bradway's constantly pushing Tanny to take them. I've also seen where there were great players that he pushed Tanny to take and Tanny ignored him. While I agree that retaining him after he was fired as GM was a weird and unusual move, it might well have been justified in his case.
So U do not think it is better to be included then excluded? U must one of those who thinks it is OK to keep having losing seasons because some NFL teams have not even one there 1st SB
To actually see what occurs draft day RR would have to be axed & then spill the beans. But because that will not occur then us fans will never know the true story including how good or bad B/way is. You can however surmise that if no nothing Woody is supporting B/way then take the negative speculation about him
There's no doubt about it he should've been fired a long time ago. There's no legitimate reason for Bradway to still be here when all of the past regimes that he's been a part of have resulted in a roster that's become more devoid of talent with each passing year. I've been saying this on here for years. Bradway must have some dirt on Woody or his family jewels. Or maybe he has Woody's jewels in his mouth. Whatever it is, there's no valid football argument for Bradway to still have a job with this team. Let alone Sr. director of college scouting. That's a scary thought when thinking about how important this draft is going to be.
The Gholston pick was horrendous and I don't understand why anyone thought he was first round material. If the Jets didn't want to draft anyone there and could not trade out, they should have passed on picking for a while. They should have done on purpose what the Vikings did by accident a few years prior.
In the grand scheme, it doesn't really matter, it is a bragging rights title only. It costs teams millions to resign these pro bowlers anyway. We have a decent foundation to build on, let's hope our GM is a good architect and Rex can be a better carpenter going forward.
I agree. I find the Bradway hate to be ridiculous. Tannenbaum and Mangini were clearly the biggest turds employed by the Jets in the past decade, excluding players.
Absolutely 100% correct - its a nothing game. I'd rather have a fit rested team for the start of next season.
