Yeah this is a very nice signing actually. He showed some promise as a rookie. Let's see what he can -- looking forward to this one.
Yes Richardson as a seventh round pick throughly beat out second round pick Isaiah Pead. Then the Rams hit on Zac Stacy in the 2013 draft and added Benny Cunningham, plus Tre Mason this year, making D-Rich expendable. Love the move.
Goodson most likely gone only question is whether we will carry Richardson as the 4th running back or stick with 3.
Speed back who had a solid rookie year but turf toe got the best of him in year 2. Doesn't contribute on Special Teams and is a real work in progress for blocking but outside of that, he's a very solid back. I think the Rams had a crowded backfield where someone like Richardson was simply expendable.
I guess we needed an insurance against potential Goodson ban or Ivory injury. Don't know the guy. I hope he can contribute.
Very very nice pick up. Richardson, if healthy, could easily beat out Powell and honestly, he could be the second best back on the team. Depends on which Daryl Richardson shows up. Either way I'm excited to have him.
Glad Goodson is getting some solid competition. I think I'd prefer Goodson from a talent standpoint, but the off the field issues tip the scale the other way.
I don't think he can beat out Powell so easily if at all. Powell can do everything, run, receive, pass protect, and has a year with Mornhinweg. Richardson will probably be the 4th back we keep and may not be active for many games.
He's got a total of 38 career receptions over 2 years. He's doesn't look like a pass catching back out of the backfield, which is what Goodson is. I think he's a replacement for Alex Green.
I think the area where Powell clearly has Richardson is pass protection. If you go back to Richardsons rookie year he is a pretty damn fine runner and pass catcher. I'm not saying that will happen or I want it to happen, I'm just saying there's going to be some very nice competition.
http://www.profootballweekly.com/prospects/player/daryl-richardson-1/ The younger brother of Bengals RB Bernard Scott and Dolphins 2011 fourth-rounder Clyde Gates (both ACU products), Richardson has good speed, catches well and showed off his explosiveness at the ACU pro day, posting a 40½-inch vertical leap and broad jump of 11 feet 3 inches. However, he is a brittle, finesse runner with marginal play strength and lacks a professional makeup. Got that info from here
