I think it's a pretty safe bet that Hill makes the team, but also a pretty safe bet that it's either prove yourself or adios at the end of the year if not sooner.
I was serious about that corner thing.. Imagine if Rex could turn him into this man handling beast at CB? He has the height and the speed to dominate.. Got nothing to lose by giving it a shot if it doesn't work out at WR, which it won't.
he isn't good at ruining routes when he knows them, imagine if he has to try to do them without knowing? I think he'd fall over a lot.
I'd like to see Kerley become the 2, with Saunders in the slot. Everyone puts a premium on WR1 and WR2 height, but there are plenty of great outside guys that are under 6'.
we shouldn't be focusing on one being a "#2", its irrelevant in this offense, if there even IS the concept of a number two receiver it'll vary from game to game, situation to situation, play to play. A better question is who makes the team at all. focusing on numbers is meaningless.
I'd be happy if Hill becomes a solid deep threat/stretch the field guy. But realistically Nelson will be the number 2 receiver.
It does kind of matter. There will always be at least 2 WR on the field, but there won't always be 3. So the #2 WR is more important than the #3 WR, hence why it is such a big deal to people.
Shaq Evans reports are kind of worrying. Feel like we have enough guys up there such as Ford and Salas that can step up but he continues wih the drops which was a concern from the video I watched and scouting reports. I hope he steps it up
and who that opposite WR is will vary from play to play. its like debating over who's the starting runningback, it'll be a committee system based on who the coaching staff has deemed the best for a particular set up. It'll always be in flux, all this number the wide receivers crap is oversimplifying things, its too rigid and I don't think has any relevance to this O. I'm arguing semantics though, this is just me being anal about something I feel is irrelevant. what matters to me is the the overall reliability of our wideouts as a whole, with diversity of skill coming second.
It really depends on how flexible and innovative Marty is. Last season he called more shotgun plays in one season than probably any season in his entire career, called the 6th most rushing attempts and really did a lot of those rushing attempts out of the shotgun. That's far more flexible than I gave him credit for. Now, he has a TE corps that is more talented than his WRs, and a really dynamic backfield, better than last season. Can Marty evolve again? That's more important than who is at the other starting WR position.
Aren't we all. Would hate to see another wasted draft pick. He has to just pretend he's playing at home against the bills every game.
True that, he's beast against the Bills and gets two left feet against everyone else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
