Absolutely. As long as we beat either PIT, SD, and or the PATS in those first 10 games. If we don't, then we're screwed.
I'm not sure this team is a playoff team yet, there's more questions then answers ,i guess we will have to wait and see.I feel like the orginization is over confident because of our 8-8 finish and didn't add the right players going into this season
Possible but not likely w/ our injuries...scratch that.. With Kyle Wilson. IMO, No Excuses. ftr, We need at least 6 to be in the hunt considering the passing Teams, our d-line will dictate everything.
Barring serious injuries I think we'll be better than that at the bye. The Jets have 6 home games and 4 road games before the bye. 6-4 is a likely record at that point, again barring a bad injury run early on. Some team always gets blown out early by injuries en route to a bad season. Was the Falcons last year with the LT and best WR both going out for the season by game 6. Matt Ryan was sacked 44 times last year or more than 50% higher than in any previous year. They also lost Kroy Bierman for the season in week 2 on the defensive side.
If we want to make the playoffs, I think we need to be better than 5-5 at the bye. Looking at the team right now, I'm not sure if we can get there. Usually the schedule looks completely different in a season, but barring major injuries I think all teams in the first 10 will be a tough out. I think that BUF/KC/PIT stretch will be key. We probably need to sweep those 3 games to head into the bye with a winning record. Grab Detroit and Oakland and BUF and that's 6 games. If I had to put money on it, I would probably say we would finish worse than 5-5, so yeah right now I would sign up for 5-5.
6-4 with some heavy duty D and a lot of hard work. While I think we can take San Diego, it seems to me we do very poorly on quick trips to the west coast. Where Rex will have to earn his money in the first half of the season is by keeping the intensity of the team up but controlled (no penalties ) week in and week out. The D needs to find a way to disrupt the shit out of the QBs, particularly, Brady, Cutler and Rivers, and the O will have to step it up and score more than the usual 16 points laden with field goals. MM and Rex need to let the dogs loose to roam and take no prisoners. Once again, if Hill does not pan out, we have no down field threat the Ds need to worry about. People better hope Hill gets it this year.
Im sorry but 5-5 sets up at best a 9-7 which at best has us sitting on our couches week 17 to see if we make the playoffs and then lose in the first round. Fuck that.
6-4 is very possible. i'll be more confident in that prediction after week 1 when they open up the playbook a bit more and we see how our guys will be utilized in real game action not this vanilla pre-season bull shit
Well I go into every season expecting that anyways. It sure beats the hell out of the last 3 seasons of Week 17's.
