Vernon Davis

I think Davis will be a good player and it would be great to have a TE that can block and be a weapon in the passing game but to draft him 4th overall with the question marks we have at QB and on the O-line would be a bad idea in my opinion. If we get an extra 1st for Abe then he would be worth considering with that pick.

 

We need a healthy franchise QB more than we need a dynamic TE.

 

I must admit, as a Jets fan I will never be comfortable with a first round TE..

 

If we do get the 9th pick from Detroit for John Abraham, heres what we should do in the first round:

#4- D'Brick
#9- Vernon Davis

Also, we should sign Jon Kitna via FA

 

That would be the perfect draft if we could. Someone said teams are not built around TE but Gates is the reason the Chargers turned around and we have Schott who I feel will make a strong case for picking Davis. I am sure we will use the NE drafting scheme where each coach and the GM make the case for "their" player and then they come to a consensus. I am hoping it falls on Davis.

Although vernon davis a freakish player that could be the next gates i still would not take him with #4 because we have more glaring needs that could be addressed at that pick (OL QB). If we have #9 i would not mind picking him up but would rather take deangelo williams
