Hey guys, I'm one of the Producers of Jets 24/7 with Eric Mangini (Sundays at 11:30 on WCBS & SNY). I'm trying to guage our audience's reactions to the show and determine what you guys like and dislike, and why you watch or why you don't, in order to put a better show on the air for you. I get the impression that many people aren't aware that the show is on and would benefit from the program as a resource for getting to know the team and Coach Mangini a little bit better. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
The only problem you have is that Mangini is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYy too animated. He's all over the place, you can hardly pick up on what he's saying and he speaks a mile a minute. The guy looks and sounds like he's done 10 lines of crank before getting in front of the camera. OK in all seriousness now, great show- I caught the first installment of this season's show on Sunday, and it was very well done. I like the fact that you are able to pack alot of content into a short-program. I'm sure that you've been told this before, but the show is actually quite motivating, and helps to get those of us who are watching from home pumped for the game. My only request would be that it get moved up in the timeslot, to the point where it's 1/2 hour before gametime- but that's the beauty of a DVR. Keep em coming! You make the guys on SNY look like the clowns they really are, Lance Pants, Butthead and the best Jets QB to ever play turned analyst, Ray Lucas.
I like the content, but aside from it being all Jets interviews, it's the same TYPE of interview you get anywhere. I want to see more indepth stuff. Practice, X's and O's, explanation of different plays or formations - like what the Edge Matchup Show (8:30 am on Sundays on ESPN) does - except focused solely on the Jets. Just stuff that you have access to that no one else does. I would love to get Mangini in there to diagram a play. Love it. What this person did, what they were supposed to do, what they should have seen pre-snap, what they should look for post-snap, etc. Love it. That said, I do watch it every week and I prefer it to anything else that's on.
I think it would be great if, in addition to interviews and practice footage, the crew follows one player a week through their practicing, team meetings, and even a bit of their personal life (I know this statement is going to open up a can of worms with some people on the board). I think it would be interesting to see what an actual week is like for some of the players.
They did touch upon that with the Vilma/Rhodes interplay, which was interesting to see in last week's program...
The show is great I like when you interview Mangini to get his thoughts on the game. I also like how they follow the players and get a sense of what type of preparation they go through to get ready for the games. Plus the great moment in Jets history gets me pumped for whoever we are playing. All around great show and keep it coming.
I totally agree. The network broadcasts treat the fans as if they know nothing -- and dont want to teach anything. Football is a complicated game -- right? Thats why they have 20 coaches and headsets and aerial photographs. You can assume that your audience wants to understand as much complicated stuff as you can throw at them. We hear about "reads" all the time and "check offs" take a chance -- and let us see a "film session" -- even if its done by one of your own guys. (Obviously EM is not letting you near any of his film sessions)
Agree with the people who said not enough X's and O's. Need more film breakdown ala NFL Match-up. And get someone like Wayne Chrebet to do it. I love Buttle and everything... but he's better to be seen and not heard. Lucas needs to be dumped in the East River.
i like the show and will watch it if i am home at the time...would love to get as much jets as possible....
I just wish it was on Saturday's instead of, or along with Sundays. Because when I go to the home games I usually miss it. It would be much more convenient to have it on a day or two before the game along with gameday so that people who can't see the first airing of it can still cath it, or see it again.
I am a musician and I absolutely HATE the Theme song. The Show is Great, Some ot the angles and interviews that are done are very insightful. The practice footage and recaps are nicely done. Obviously since this is an Emmy winning show. But Like I said, Apologies to whoever I insult here, The Music is just bad. It provides no excitement and does not provide a tie-in to the stories.
I love the show. Not as good as it was in the past because Herm was a lot more open, still a superb show.
We're always looking to make things better. What types of music should we be using? If you want to send us some of your stuff we'd be happy to take a listen to it.
Whatever you do, don't take any music from Royaltee- true, he's a musician, but the bigger story is that he's the guy writing all of the crappy tunes for adult flims, "baum chicka baum baum."- look elsewhere, and don't say I didn't warn you.
LMAO... Dude, just because I declined to do the music for your Amature movie with you & them 2 dudes you don't have to hold a grudge  Hey, Don't sleep on Porn music, It has grown Leaps and Bounds. Well, that's what 17a's told me....
Yeah but all 17A hears is that damm farm music with the movies he's watching! (snare drum) I'll be here all night, try the veal....
-For the Interview segments, Something Simple depending on what the interview is about. Moody/Reserved -The Hilights should Be Hi energy. -The Practice could go either way, energy or something anticipating. Street sounding/raw. The Theme song definitely needs a revamping. I could whip up a few tunes and Post em by the end of the week if you'd like.
