Any chance that Rex would accept DC and assistant HC after the season?

Highly undervalued by a lot of fans here. He would get another head coach job in a second.

His near 500 record would be a huge catch for other teams, let me tell ya...

I just want Rex gone, he hasn't had a top five defense in 4 years. His defense can't get any turnovers, so why keep him around?

When he lost the weight, he lost his balls too. He is nothing more than a yes man now!

Maybe you should work and try to own something yourself--that way you will end your delusion that somehow you have more ownership of this site than other posters.

I'd honestly fire Idzik before Rex even though he's only been here for two years. I don't know how the HELL you can preach a long term "build through the draft" strategy and then show blatant disregard and ineptitude with your draft picks. He's picking players who are going to be injury plagued and showing absolutely 0 of his patented "patience" by cutting FIRST YEAR players and allowing them to be signed by other teams without even giving them an opportunity to prove themselves.

What's the point of rolling over all this money to resign "home grown talent" if you HAVE no homegrown talent? This team is just going to be deprived of talent with a huge amount of free money until he finally starts to feel his seat getting hot and goes out and spends it.

Honestly when this run is over I think he's headed to TV for a while. I can't see him being s HC for a while.

If he's fired he'll be the top candidate for DC on every team that needs one.

Almost any team would take him as a DC. He will get HC offers despite being "quirky". Especially with how he's turned it down the past few years. Ultimately, as others mentioned I think he spends a year or two on TV.

Yeah, you honestly believe people around the league don't know the shit he has been given to have that record? You think they will look at his career as a head coach and base it solely on his record?

He took this team from being a joke to two AFC championships with one of the worst QBs in the league at the time. His defense and running game single handedly drove this team to one game away from the superbowl. You think these other franchise owners are idiots? You don't think they realize that Rex has been given a completely shitty hand and still is maintaining a record above 500?

    Give me a break.

I can name you at least five teams that would love to hire Rex Ryan as their coach.

Coaching the Raiders is a career killer.

Rex takes over as HC in oakland in 2015. The Raiders with young QB Carr make it to two championship games in '16 and '17 losing both. In 2019 after two years missing the playoffs Rex drafts a QB I the second round and brings in veteran QB Mark Sanchez compete for the starting job. The cycle will be complete.

This is a perfectly ridiculous conclusion to a perfectly ridiculous thread.

    Well done Sir.

While Ryan is a pretty good interviewee, and knows how to craft the sound bite, imo he's not so great at analysis and thinking on his feet. I am thinking about some of the imo rather disastrous post game pressers he's given over the years, especially down the stretch in 12, and the last one. I can't see him sitting on one of those game show panel discussions. I also have no idea good or bad whether he could announce a game. But i kind of doubt it.

Ryan on tv might sound like a good idea on the surface, but I dont see how you think it through to a positive conclusion.

While I can see Rex going into the studio I think he loves coaching too much to take a year off. I can see him taking a job as DC until the right HC opens. He would be smart not to jump at the next open spot and wait for a good opportunity. If he was fired last year Tampa would have been a great landing spot with Revis and a lot of talent. SF next year might be a very nice spot for him if Harbaugh leaves. I would love to see him reunite with Pettine in Cleveland while waiting for that right HC job to open. Although, I would much rather see Rex here in NY next year.

He'd be an upgrade for the Cowboys, Redskins, Lions, Vikings, Panthers, Bucs, Bills, Fins, Browns, Texans, Titans, Jags and Raiders.

    So that's 13.

He would get tons of offers. Plus defensive coordinator offers. Probably about 20 of those.

    So yeah..lol

yea he'd get a bunch of DC opportunities. I think you're a little drunk on Rex juice about the HC stuff though.

Fact is there arent many great head coaches right now. Not saying Rex is great but he's in the top 15. If he wants another head coaching job he'll get one fairly quickly.

There's no great crop waiting in college. Hiring a coordinator off of a winning team is always a crap shoot too.

Rex will resurface if he gets canned.
