I had no problems with how Idzik handled things except that I felt that he should've resigned Cromartie instead of signing Patterson. But we did draft Milliner in '13, McDougal in '14 plus we had a few bodies. Things ended up backfiring.

Those are terrific attributes, but they only ensure that he is a great fan and cheerleader, not a great coach.

Not to mention Rex clearly does not have a firm grip on his players - they are a very undisciplined crew - from missing meetings to HORRIBLE penalties (false start, 12 man in the huddle, etc) not to mention horrible use of timeouts in the 2nd half. That is all on coaching and concentration. I think Rex is their friend, not their authority figure/disciplinarian that he needs to be. And i'm sick of him taking all of the blame each time his team loses - a lot if it is his players doing - stop jumping on the grenade - there should be pressure on the players.

Im a big rex fan also and would like him to stay...I think he was dealt a shitty hand this season and was kind of set up to fail...last year he coached his ass off with a team with no talent and brought them to an 8-8 record. Since Idzik didnt to anything to improve the roster from last year..Ryan is in the same boat as last year trying to win games with such terrible talent. No denying this team is shit..Not even Bill Billicheck could win with this team....If Rex does go...Anyone think Mike Westoff can be a head coach? I know he was a just a special teams coach but I think he could be good.

How about laying the 3 90 yard drives on him? How about laying a team that quit on him yesterday? How about the constant 3rd and long blitz they destroys this team time and time again? Rex needs to go. This bum is nothing more then a overrated blow hard and is almost now a 500 coach. I for sure dont want a stiff like him around when we bring in a new QB. He will run him into the ground like he does the others.

If Izdik has this plan to get a team for long term success. Why would they fire Rex knowing this? Plus if this is a rebuild year. Why would Rex get fired?

Could be a media component to it, not firing rex means no fans in the seats later in the season

Not firing Idzik could do the same thing.

Can't keep a guy because of what he did years ago. Right now his team is a mess mentally and that falls on the head coach. I never seen a team that was this bad at developing a rhythm on offense.

Look at the Jets!!! This is what happens when you let the media and the fans run your team!

Agreed. Resigning Cro would have been a wise move. Don't know why we didn't do that even if we added Patterson as well. It would have been nice to have a Vet with a good track record to help bring along our young corners. That's really the only thing he did that really annoyed me.

These things are commonly delegated to position coaches. Those are the guys responsible, but they are responsible to Ryan. I expected some shuffling of the coach deck today - disappointed in hearing nothing.

People kill Tanny for 'going for it', but it's not going for it that killed us per se and it nearly got us to a Super Bowl. AT LEAST Tanny generally traded up for the right guys in the draft. Where Tanny killed us is throwing big money at the wrong guys like a drunken sailor (Sanchez, Holmes, etc).

How exactly was Holmes a wrong guy to throw money at? On Pittsburgh he was really good and clutch and i guess the Jets thought they would be getting that Holmes from Pittsburgh. Not their fault he turned into a sissy

Holmes was thrown away by the Steelers who needed wide receivers for the value of a breakfast taco. He had good moments in 2010, but he was a proven douchebag and spent his years with the Jets proving it.

Sucks because i remember him making some good catches with the Jets but i think he really showed his true colors in that Miami game.
