The Ivy League plays the same football the rest of the NFL and NCAA plays. And I can guarantee you'd have no shot at any position in the Ivy League at any school,
LOL, screw the Ivy League. I really didn't know where he played, then I googled it. But on a side note you oversensitive douche , get a life.
Who gives a shit about his background. All I care about is what he done for the Jets now. In 2 years he gets a grade of a D IMO. It would be a F if it wasn't for Richardson. I don't give him much credit for all the money we have in cap space. Anybody would had made the same cuts to get us under the cap that much.
I think he was brought in to manage your cap...I truely belive Rex has made all the draft and player decisions with his backing. Just look at how Rex talks about the last 2 drafts should tell you everything.
HAHAHA...yeah okay, has nothing to do with the fact Rex's job is on the line so he's trying not to annoy his GM. Or that he doesn't always take great pains to publicly pimp out players on his roster drafted or not regardless. If Rex had any power over player decisions they wouldn't be running out CFL corners and converted safeties.
If we are going to hold Idzik accoutable for his draft picks right now, the above statement cannot be true. Mr T owns the 2014 NY Jet CB and WR positions. He drafted Kyle Wilson and Stephen Hill to be fixtures at those positions right now. Those picks have been a failure by any measurement. Idzik failed to make stop gap signings as a short term solution, but if we are looking at draft picks this falls squarely at the feet of Mike Tannenbaum.
Idzik is a piece of shit for a GM. He was far from our first pick and the only one to want the job knowing he would have to keep Rex. Well after this season he has clearly made it to where he can get rid of Rex. Idzik's problem is he sabotaged Rex too well, and now it should cost him his job too.
Great point. I don't understand why the FO Homers give Idzik so much credit for clearing cap space. He traded Revis, and replaced him with Milliner. More cap space, nobody playing Cb. He cut Sanchez, which was a good move, and Smith replaced him, under a rookie contract. How has that worked out? A lateral move at best (frankly I think Smith is even worse than sanchez). He cut Cromartie without trying to get him back, and signed Patterson, who never played a down in a regular season game. He also cut Holmes, which he had to with Holmes's contract, but that did not help the cap since he had to use that money to sign Decker. Yes, that was an upgrade, but it was not a move that added cap space. That's kind of my point, and yours, right?
If you and your management team interview and hire a qualified worker and someone whom seems to be a good candidate to run your widget machine in your company, and 2 months after you hire him, he blows up your widget making machine. Should you and your staff be fired or heavily penalized because the worker went schitzo even though you did your due dilligence during the hiring process? I can't understand how Idzik gets the blame for Patterson going awol when that was never in his history. Goodson I will give you because he did have a history of issues. There's no way you can hold a GM or even a coach to blame for injuries. McDougle was a freak issue. What if revis was rehired for $10 mil and he retore his ACL 2nd game in. Would you kill Idzik for overspending on a washed up player? Every fan becomes the perfect GM with hindsight.
He's done a great job here doing nothing but clearing cap space for his replacement to bring in some actual talent.
I don't hold him responsible for Patterson going awol, I don't think anyone does. I do hold him responsible for signing a guy that wasn't likely to make any contribution to the team. He wasn't qualified and wasn't a good candidate. It could be the injuries Idzik knew about, took a big toll on his ability to play CB. I give him credit for Adams, he seems like a solid player. Best case scenario had 2 rookies (Pryor and Mcdougal ) , a second year guy who struggled last year (Milliner), a second year 7th round pick (Allen) and the injured 31 year old Patterson starting in our secondary. Since you like analogies ;-) In an effort to save money, your wife passes by the 10$ Charmin Ultra soft, rather than picking up the 5$ quilted Northern, she heads for the bottom shelf basic ass paper for 2 bucks. While this does save money, it doesn't leave you feeling good about the the savings when it tears and you have shit on your fingers.
How does he suck? He is a decent blocker, and if you watched the Green Bay game, actually can catch the ball quite well. Unfortunately Geno cant look at 3rd/4th/5th receiver or dump the ball off under pressure, in a decent passing offense I think Bohannon could be a hell of safety valve.
Why does Rex get six years and this guy not even two. And to all the Rex fans who want him to stay as Head Coach for life he hasn't been fired yet. Maybe Idzik isn't out to get him like Mehta and some of these other idiots claim.
