Hopefully it's a fourth and not a third as we probably end up cutting him at the end of the year..either that or pay him 10 mil a year for another 3-4 years and still no QB to throw to him.
I hitnk we re-do the Harvin deal or cut him. Either way, Id take a WR in the first round. I wish Amari had better size though
the problem with idzik (and it makes doing mocks tough for me) is that he will always take BPA us getting harvin has nothing to do with us getting amari cooper. if he's BPA Idzik will take him, which i think is the right call. A WR core of Decker, Cooper, and a healthy Harvin, WITH Amaro and Ivory has the potential to be deadly, regardless of the QB
Just a guess but I think Harvin just plays under the contract next season assuming he plays well enough for the Jets not to just cut and run on the 6th rounder. I'm not sure how I feel about the prospect of cutting him and losing a 6th rounder for nothing but it's a whole lot better than cutting and running from a 4th rounder. This assuming that's actually the trade. The Jets aren't pressed for cap space next year in any way. They kind of have a complete mulligan year where they can do almost anything they want too with compensation, re-signing their own guys, bringing in free agents, making trades, etc. I expect we'll see a mixture of moves between now and the draft as the Jets reconfigure for 2015. Hopefully they win some games the second half of the season and they're making all the decisions for next year from a position of strength.
With Harvin and Decker on the roster, drafting WR in round one would be as helpful as drafting DE in round one. We do need another WR, Kerley is no prize but we have bigger holes to fill in round one.
Barring an all-time great rushing attack, there is no such thing as an offense that is "deadly" without a competent qb.
I agree, at the moment I'm hoping for an OT in round 1 and a WR in round 2 or possibly an ILB. Hopes like that definitely change though.
