Won't get fired if Idzik can't fire him. Would think Woody likes Rex more than Idzik so doubt he let's Idzik fire him when he's gonna get rid of both.

He should absolutely be fired tomorrow but Idzik doesn't have the guts (and is afraid of upsetting Woody)

Woody will evaluate at the end of the season as he always does.

I just hope he decides to make the right call and blow it the fuck up.

I think after tonight, the players on the team probably have called it a wrap for the season.

I have a hunch that Rex said goodbye to the players in the locker room after the game. Neither Rex nor the players will say a word when asked about Rex's postgame message to the team. It wouldn't make sense to do this on a short week though, especially at 2-10. What's the point?

    Isn't it obvious?

Everyone was reporting that Rex preferred to start Vick, but the "organization" came to the conclusion that they should start Geno. The "organization" being Idzik who is trying to figure out what to do at QB for next year.

Rex knows he's not back next year, so he and Marty said F/U to Idzik by giving him nothing to evaluate. If Geno isn't passing, Idzik can't evaluate whether or not he's going to be salvagable.

I thought it was genius by Rex.

Idzik basically screwed Rex on the cap, and on the cornerbacks, and now Rex is screwing Idzik by not allowing him to evaluate the most important position on the field going into next year.

It sucks all around for Jets fans, but if I was in Rex's position, I'd have tried to come up with a way to do the same thing.

Maybe we'll see 80% wildcat next week, and a 2-QB system the following week. Put both Geno and Vick in the backfield, and let Mangold snap to either QB.

    Why would he do that?

    Why the hell not?

He's got a DC job with another team whenever he wants one, he can go to TV and any network will take him, so it's not like he's going to be hurting for cash.

    Revenge.

You screw me, I'm going to screw you. Simple as that.

Why would you fire him NOW???
What's different today than it was yesterday.
The team was bad yesterday, it's bad now and it will be bad tomorrow.

I think Rex put in six (not sure if that's right) good years with this organization.
It makes little to no sense to fire him now.
There aren't any coaches available and there isn't anyone on staff that is good enough to turn this around.

When Black Monday comes around, he'll be gone and we all will talk about the good old days.
The time to fire Rex Ryan has already past.

What did bug me was watching Woody wear that stupid baseball cap that he wears, chatting it up with friends, instead of
    watching the game.
    Does he care?
    Really?
The problems with this team starts with and go down.

Woody has to fire Rex for poor performance and Idzik for screwing Rex over. Idzik tanked the season, and Rex needed HOF players to get to a SB.

Johnson is mostly only concerned with keeping carrots out of his ass and telling people how he owns a team.

The Jets won 31-17. Smith played arguably his best game of the year. He was 22 of 29 for 297 yards and 3 touchdown passes.
