The Jets found every possible way to lose a game this year. Even with the talent mix that's on the coaches. They lost to the Fins because Nick Folk, who can make FG's in his sleep at this point missed two in a row.
No need to be a dick. You yourself say that Rex influenced the Richardson pick in 2013, but there's "no way in flippin' hell" Rex didn't influence our draft picks in 2014? And Ivory was not a FA - we traded a 4th rounder for him.
I'm not trying to be a "dick" and one pick does not constitute the whole draft... And, ok...so I got it wrong...doesn't diminish whether it was a FA, trade, draft...stork delivery...I don't care. The man's track record blows ass and he needs to go. Esshhhhhh....
so it doesn't matter who, just as long at they are younger? younger doesn't mean better, and guys like Colon and Pace are not the reason we are 2-11. they are decent role player vets, which every team needs. benching them would have made the team worse, as there are no viable alternatives. the reason we are 2-11 is largely due to the QB and secondary play. Geno Smith, Vick, Walls, Allen, Adams, Pryor, Jarrett.......they've all been benched multiple times. They needed to be benched, but unfortunately the alternatives have not been better there either.
LOL! The jets are 2-11 and tied for the worst record in the league. Sorry, don't think it could get much worse by looking at a few rookies at this point. Calvin Pace can't even catch the football when it is thrown right to him, and Willie Colon gets 2-3 penalties a game.
we can actually be worse. Colon does take too many penalties, but is also the best Guard we have on the team (which isn't saying much). His run blocking is decent, and hasn't got the QB killed on pass protection like Breno, Aboushi, Winters and Cumberland have. Pace hasn't been as effective as last year, won't make many big plays, but is at least reliable to do his job. benching those guys in favor of utter inexperience, at a point where we already have holes everywhere, would just be throwing the towel in completely. again, who are you going to put out there?
The team on both sides of the ball has simply been out coached (as Rex admits each week at his pressers). Other teams can make adjustments a weak point of Rex and staff. Still 3rd down problems on D and it's all not on the cornerback. Big holes which other teams can exploit. On offense very inconsistent play calling. They either go to an extreme with the running game or don't use the backs hardly at all. These are not just personnel deficiencies. And like many other teams due to injuries the Jets are using backups or recent signees. Other teams handle this better than the Jets.
I think it's mostly bad drafting, but when you have two QBs in a row who are that bad statistically, you have to blame the coach as well.
There might be some truth to the coaching staff contributing to the problem, but Idzik is definitely a piss poor evaluator. Geno Smith - I don't give a shit what coach he had, he will never be a good QB. He doesn't have the brain for it nor the talent. Dee Milliner - Idk what the future holds, but he's a bust right now. Calvin Pryor - loved this pick but so far doesn't look good. Still too early. Dex McDougle - loved this pick also. Jury still out because of injury. Could be a good corner. Brian Winters - garbage. I won't even get into all the picks this year. This guy needs to go.
