It was a real thread until somebody asked him who he wanted and since then it has been people asking him who he wanted.

    Answer the question, Claire!

Remember the Seattle Seven? Yeah, that was me. And, like, six other guys.

What legit evidence is there that he's not ready to be an NFL HC?

None of the coaches you named are on the open market to my knowledge, therefore we are left to "buy low" for lack of better terms, on a coach that shows promise and gets endorsements from tenured football guys. Arians, (who I take it you respect since you referenced him calling plays) even stamped him along with The Tuna. If I cant have a great coach like one of those two, I'll sure give a guy that they stand behind a shot.

Something else I like about the hire, is that everyone has the same things to say about him (which I understand... it's of no interest to you, but it still bodes well for him in my eyes). Intelegent, motivating, knows how to put players into to position to make plays. I also like that he played the game at the NFL level. This might not mean much to you or me but I'm sure it means the world to the players. Knowing your coach TOTALLY understands the warzone you are asked to prosper in must go a long way in getting players to buy into the system. The ability to get players to buy in is a common trait that all of the coaches you listed had in spades, an ability that everyone Bowls has delt with in the past has noted him as having.

I'm not saying these things mean he WILL succeed, but I am willing to give a guy a shot that has; some good markers of potential, is a Jersey native that we hope will be hungry to make his home town proud, and has a stable of coaches including Parcells and Arians that he can call on if needed for advice or support in however minimal a role. I'm not saying to jump on the party train to next year's super bowl either, but I do think we should wait till at least the end of the pre-season to start saying Woody shit the bed again.

Unfortunately, guys that have been successful at the HC are all employed.

I think being a successful HC IS mostly personality driven. You have your coordinators, who should be doing the majority of coaching the schemes. The HC should be overseeing them. And motivating the players to play to their potential.

Rex Ryan got to the AFC Championship game, and, most recently 8-8, based almost solely on his ability to get players to give their utmost. Yeah Yeah, supposed defensive genius, but, really, just a guy players believed in and would play for.

Bowles has more coaching experience than Tom Landry had before becoming head coach of the Cowboys. That worked out pretty good for the Cowboys.

Okay, lock it up! He has gone incommunicado and will never tell us his choices. Too many active threads here anyway.

I think we just continue to mock him.

Leave it open like the "Geno may already have elite accuracy" thread.

    Let the hijinks continue.
