Same here, which is why I don't want Mccown. Mccown is like Geno in 5 years after he's been shuffled around the league and failed in multiple locations. No thanks.
I don't know man. The FA QBs, even the top QBs in the draft are so bad I can see the Jets having no real choice but to stick with Geno for the next year or two. If that's the path we're forced to take, How do you think Geno will be going into year 5?
Josh McCown is not an upgrade to anyone. Unfortunately the only way to upgrade at QB is to either get lucky with Winston or Mariota being available at 6 or make our own luck and go get one of them. I vote go get one of them.
Or that Cleveland would use their two firsts to move into the top 5 and take someone we wanted. Not necessarily Mariota either, picture this...Winston, Mariota, Williams, Cooper then Cleveland trades with the skins and takes White. They need a WR as badly as a QB.
It's hard to go wrong with what should be available at 6. In that scenario, Scherff, Gregory, Ray, trade down. Plenty of options. I'm just glad there's no chance McCown ends up here.
Brian Costello @BrianCoz RT @MaryKayCabot: Three other teams besides #Browns made offers for McCown: #Bills, #Jets and #Bears. Only #Bills were in the ballpark. 26m This tells me the regime isn't so high on Geno. No?
No it doesn't. It could mean they don't have another QB outside of Geno. If it reflected that they weren't high on Geno they would have offered more money. The fact that they weren't in the ballpark means it wasn't that important to get him to replace Geno.
