i think letting douz go would be a big mistake. i love what he brought. he was more then depth he really contributed in the dline rotation
likewise, I don't get why they wouldn't bring him back. Only thing I can imagine it being is he wants to get starter money or something.
I see you gather your knowledge of players from Wikipedia! BTW which is wrong 41 tackles not 58, so stop trying to act like you've been Bowens biggest fan
We are sure signing a lot of Veteran players. I thought that the draft is for depth. Maybe hinting at a trade?
Hey look it's the guy that thinks anyone who wanted Revis to come back was a stalker ex girlfriend all up in this mug You're the last person to be throwing around criticism
The draft for depth? The draft is where most of a team's starters should come from as well as much of its depth. FA is supposed to be mostly for depth, but with a few starters occasionally mixed in.
This guys stats are dreadful, your painting half a picture your leaving out the fact that he has been in the league for 9 years and has a grand total of 12 sacks. He had one mediocre season in 2011.He has 168 carrer tackles in 9 seasons .This guy won't ever make the team
I wouldn't say they think we're set. These last few guys are just guys on the cheap to create competition and some depth. Mac talked about this stage of FA and trying to score on the cheap. It's depth and competition. He's just grabbing whatever he can
And who cares if he doesn't? They probably signed him to a $27 a year contract with a coupon at Olive Garden as incentive.
legar's been in the league 7 years and has compiled 5 sacks and 102 total tackles. maybe thats not the best indicator of quality for a veteran career backup. that this bowen guy has lasted this long in the league says something though. must've survived camp good and often. maybe we shouldn't scoff at potential replacements for D-line depth because of mediocre stats, after all they're career backups for a reason.
The point is it really isn't news.....its just another depth guy .Everyone gets up in arms and makes a thread everytime we sign someone .We are almost on page 3 about a guy who will most likely not make the team and even if he does he may see the field 6 or 7 times. We haven't even got to the draft yet there's a chance a young guy can overtake his spot
Who the hell is calling it news? Who is calling this anything but it is: a depth signing. I didn't make it anything more than it is and you are trying to say I did and failing. He's mostly a career backup and I mentioned him being injury riddled even in his best season, stop trying to make it out like I was calling him a good player, I never called him more than decent. My main problem in this thread is a beat reporter using Twitter to try to get a local scoop
Losing teams draft for depth. Good teams aim high and take a shot on potential difference makers, quality starters at whatever position, and/or under the radar guys with legit upside. Losing: Scotty McKnight, the Terminator, Bilal Powell, Tajh Boyd, Greggy McElroy, Shaq Evans, Quincy Enunwa. etc. Winning: Martavis Bryant (round 4), Antonio Brown (round 6), Gostkowski (round 4), Jimmy Graham (round 3), Julian Edelman (round 7), TY Hilton (round 3), Pierre Garcon (round 6), Marques Colston (round 7), etc. FA is more about filling needs and depth signings.
