Shoot I didn't read your post before I clicked .. I pretty much posted the same message as I agree .. our top 5-6 guys could start somewhere .. This D is going to be interesting and Bowles is going to be licking his lips with what he is going to be able to do when it comes to planning.
The Jets will be unique in that the nickel and dime corners have more important jobs than the normal run of the mill defense. If those guys don't do their jobs, the Jets D will get lit up. The Jets D is going to be applying massive pressure at the point of attack, and those corners are expected to hold for approximately 4 seconds without letting their guy get by.
They have the talent. They give that front seven all the time and flexibility they need to get to the QB.
The jets have 6-7 serviceable options at corner- Revis, Cromarterie, Skrine (all added in FA) and Milliner, McDougle (returning from injury) and Williams and Walls (who were press ganged into starting last year). Their ability to cover man on man should be second to none - I am REALLY looking forward to seeing Bowles scheme and plot using the toys at his disposal. I think it is a big deal if he were eating ribs and drinking beer and not working out but even last year he and Mo worked out together in the off season http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/20...d_see_sacks_increase_says_position_coach.html I also think I recall that he, Mo and other DL worked out together in 2013. He is close to Mo - that is obvious but if he can stay in shape and understands the various roles he has to play then missing this element of the off season does not worry me too much. UPDATED Per Rotoworld Jets LE Sheldon Richardson is skipping voluntary workouts to spend time with his family. This isn't that notable nor is it a concern, but we're using the topic as an excuse to talk about Richardson's thoroughly-dominant sophomore season. After racking up just 3.5 sacks en route to winning DROY honors in 2013, the Jets wanted to see more from Richardson as a pass rusher. He responded with eight sacks and 54 combined pressures. Already an elite talent at 24 years old, Richardson was PFF's No. 2-ranked 3-4 end behind J.J. Watt. A big pay day is on the horizon. Does any team get 100% attendance at voluntary work outs - NO - I read that Brady as an example used to miss them all the time in previous years
Thanks. When it happened I didn't know what to think because I've never had a major injury. It felt like my leg snapped, I thought I broke my leg. The first couple of minutes were kinda painful. Couldn't really put any weight on it for a couple weeks but 5 months now and I am able to run somewhat and o some things. Idk if anyone has gone 6 months without getting surgery lol usually you get surgery a few weeks after the mri
I'm pretty sure that the team owners wanted all team activities to be mandatory but the players balked and negotiated to make some mandatory and some voluntary. Who are we to comment on how someone spends THEIR time. I think some fans are taking this too far, opinions are ok even posting your opinion to forums like this one, but when you tweet directly to a player.....not good. Put the shoe on the other foot before you hit the enter key.
OTA's seem pretty locked down. can't find any information from today's practice. tomorrow's practice will be open to media, as will next Wednesday's. This week's OTA practices will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with media access on Wednesday only. There is no contact, and players can do 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 team drills. Next week's last four OTAs run from Tuesday through Friday, with media access permitted on Wednesday only.
From reading tweets, Geno looked bad today, Amaro surprising played with the threes and fours behind Cumberland / Sudfeld. Also, Shaq Evans looked spotty. Other than that sounds good that Ridley and Fitzpatrick getting more involved.
Also in his presser, says its Geno's job to lose. But come training camp, there will be competition. So now we can all rest easy
