One things for sure. We are more loaded at weapons on offense than in as long as I can remember. Last year David Nelson was a starting WR who got no separation and didn't do Geno any favors. We have literally transformed our receiving unit from bottom 3 to top 5 in two years. If Geno can't perform this year with Marshall, Decker and Amaro in Chan Gailey's offense, that's probably the nail in the coffin.
There was a game (Bears I think?) where Nelson was trying so hard to give the ball away but just couldn't get it done. I think he fumbled 2 balls out of bounds and the Jets recovered another. He was solid in 2013 and decent up until that point but he was never the same after that game.
He was a good signing in 2013 but seemed to be injured in 2014 which made it easy to take him out of the game. When he was cut for Harvin, clear admission on Idzik's part that we were woefully undermanned at receiver to start the year
I am notoriously lame about reading disclaimers. sorry!! That said, I don't think the Dolphins tanked that game just so they could sign Tannehill to a team-friendly extension ;-)
Hmmm, I aint sayin all that until I see them in action. And, let's not forget, depth could still be an issue. Any of these guys is a hammy away from, "oh wait, now we have to run T. J. Graham out there"--no disrespect!!!
His brain and heart probably were in Haiti with all his adopted kids...can't fault him for that...but if you can't focus on your job stay home before you hurt yourself or someone else.
