I need a book for health class pertaining to anything about health, so I want to choose Joe Namath (alcoholic, bad knees, etc) and I know that he has an autobiography coming out. I can't find it anywhere, I checked on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The book doesn't come out til a little later this month. The book is also called "Namath", not to be confused with the one Mark Kriegal wrote. Move this mods, if you guys think this doesn't pertain to anything Jets.
If you haven't read the Kreigel one, you should. I thought it was excellent. Shows Namath at both his best and worst.
I haven't heard anything about a new autobiography from Joe. I collect all of his memorabilia and am usually in touch with such things so if you can let me know where you heard that I would appreciate it. I'll poke around on the net for awhile and see if I can find anything. On the sportsline site you can "E-mail Joe" but I doubt he ever really sees this stuff. Worth a try though http://sportsline.com/u/fans/celebrity/namath/huddle/huddle.htm I usually see him at card shows but the next one that I know he'll be at isn't until the off season. By the way, I agree with 20&out about the Kriegel book. If you want details of Joes alcohol and knee problems, both are clearly documented in that story. Good luck...
is this book by William Sandford , Bruce Chadwick or James Olson ? scrath that....BINGO!!! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Namath-Joe/...f=sr_1_15/202-5141088-7271838?ie=UTF8&s=books If you can't order it your end I would be happy to help out.
I wonder if it's a simple collection of quotes as opposed to a "real" autobio like the Dick Shaap one from 1969.
This Namath book has been scratched and eliminated from the publisher's catalog. In other words, it ain't coming out. Don't know why, I was looking forward to it, but unless there's a total change of heart, it's not seeing the light of day.
Since I may not be able to get that book, and not allowed to read Kreigal's, anyone else have a suggestion to a book that has something to with health, whether roids or injury.
If you want to base it on a Jet player , why not Dennis Byrd? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rise-Walk-T...ef=sr_1_2/202-5141088-7271838?ie=UTF8&s=books Bit cheaper too
Klecko and Fields book "Nose to Nose" does a pretty good job of documenting Klecko's knee injury and recovery in 1982 and 1986.
I read that book a few years ago. I thought it was pretty good. I'm not allowed to reread a book unless my dad doesn't know about it, and he has been asking me everyday if I chose my book yet. I think I'm going to get the Byrd book. Thanks for your guys help.
May be too late, but that new Namath book is coming out and Joe will be at the Jets game on the 26th signing copies.... http://newyorkjets.com/news/article...book-at-the-meadowlands-on-sunday-november-26
Maybe I'll use that book for another report. That report I'm working on is due the 15th so I don't want to change books.
