LOL I'm not talking about busting your brothers balls in jest or even in anger. The point I'm trying to make is that even human beings that are "nuts" deserve some respect and they have feelings. Unless or until we can all learn to speak to and about each other with respect, and make a genuine effort to try to understand those different from us, we'll never have true peace and stability in this world, and the world's problems will never be resolved. In fact, they'll just continue to get worse. Is that the legacy we want to leave to future generations?
Marshall is doing Marshall with this soundbyte, he knows he needs a tremendous amount of targets to get his production numbers and is planting that early seed so the qb will over depend on him and ignore the rest of his progressions..He did the same in Miami..
The problem here is that there is an implied argument that we should not hold someone's immutable characteristics, that which they cannot change, that they are not responsible for, against them. And to a great extent there is truth and a valid basis for saying that about people who suffer from mental illness. But there is also the subject of their behavior. When people who suffer from a mental disability make pronouncements, reach conclusions, make arguments, that is something that is related to their condition, over which they probably have no real control. But the behavior itself, the arguments, can be looked at for intrinsic worth, and it would often be the case that ignoring that such arguments are coming from people with a mental illness is foolish. I am not saying that such people should be ignored or that everything they say and do should be discounted. But to ignore completely the possible origins of their behavior is not required, and I think is even silly.
No I'm honestly not I feel like the guy will be an asset to the team both with his work ethic and his production on the field. I do understand where you're coming from though, but I think he'll be alright.
I don't believe in forgive and forget when it concerns a felony like assault and battery. And having a loose caboose isn't an excuse either.
No but I never assaulted anyone. Or beat up a woman. Look, if he's clean with the law and with the league I guess (and that's pushing it a lot) he deserves a chance. But look at Plaxico. He did time for not hurting a fly. He even had a gun permit, as I recall it was out of state and it had expired. Guys are serving time for basically almost doing nothing. And this fucktard is making millions. And going on TV and talking about the perils of mental illness. To me it's just trying to find an excuse. To cover himself the next time he gets violent.
Amateur, wannabe, saints & doctors anyway. Truth is our amateur, wannabe saint. I'm our amateur, wannabe gynecologist M.D.
I don't think he's covered himself at all. being a mental health advocate who knows whats wrong with himself means he is OUT of excuses if he acts up again and has to be held to a higher standard from that point on. using it as an excuse would be doing the exact same thing over and over again and blaming his BPD each time, deflecting responsibility to his condition rather than taking responsibility by going lengths to fix the problem the best he can.
You could be right but to me he's giving a reason for his actions. And giving them legitimacy. I just don't buy it. If you're prone to violence and you're sincere: You do whatever it takes to not put yourself in a position to harm anyone. Esp. a woman and one you're involved in. How can you beat somebody that you claim to love. And as for all of these motherfuckers and there's a lot of them who do it. And 99% plus percent of them are not football players. I have no sympathy for these guys at all.
Guys that can catch and shed open field tackles like he can are few and far between. Let's see how things go. He's stayed out of trouble for a while.
Ok. But don't ask me if I'd want Aaron Hernandez on the team just because he was one of the best tight ends in the NFL and they're not easy to come by.
The NFL used to be about players who were role models: Frank Gifford, YA Tittle, Johnny Unitas, even Namath, Elway, and Marino. Today we got murderers (Hernandez) cheaters( Br*dy, Bellishit,), headcases Geno, urberheadcases that declare they are Borderlines (one of the most difficult cases to treat in MH) BMarshall, Coaches that know no boundaries and swear like a drunken sailors and proclaim their fetishes, Rex Ryan, and a host of former would be felons Petterson, Rice ....the list goes on of all the wife beaters." Prince" Shembo who kicked his gfriends dog to death. Well done NFL. I think the gladiators in Rome were better behaved. There are some good players, of course but you might as well spend all night looking.
