Amen to having an average QB. I feel like Farve, Smith, Sanchez, every down I was worried about an intercaption. Obviosly Fitz is not Tom Brady but he is a confident average QB.

I know Fitz isnt a superstar but we have had terrible inconsistent QB play for so many years.

    Game ball to IK.

    Ryan Fitzpatrick bro...

It's just one week against a bad team with an unprepared backup. There's plenty of time for him to suck don't worry.

That last line made me laugh.

This team has been searching for averageness at the QB spot for so long though so it was refreshing to see. Geno would've thrown the ball too high to Decker on his TD pass. Most likely would've thrown atleast 1 more pick too.

It is only one game. Im not really excited about beating Cleveland, but I do trust that Fitz will give us quality play this year. Him and Marshall seem to have some pretty great chemistry already.

I was worried no matter who threw. From Vinny all the way to Fitz.

Trust me there were some errors that he got away with. People need to stop he didn't have a great game, he just didn't make mistakes that cost us.

He had a very good game against a very good secondary.

Im not gonna say anything until we play an elite defense.......I remember how exicited I was opening day a few years ago after we blew out Buffalo and Stephen Hill had a bunch of tds.....we all remeber how that ended.I do think the playoffs are realistic for us this season though

I am not giving Fitz a BJ, he is average... It just we have had the worst QB for YEARS. 7 years actually. I see fitz as about as good as J Culter. He is super average.

Smith, Sanchez and Favre were so BAD! they were terrible. Every drop back it was a risk of INT. I never want to see Smith play for us again.

WE WOULD HAVE LOST THIS GAME WITH ANY QB IN THE LAST 7 YEARS other than Fitz.

Yeah keep telling yourself that. Haden can't cover Marshall. That to showed that. Out offensive weapons are much better than you give them credit for. We have two stud wrs and a beast runner. That wasn't Fitzpatrick. Any qb could a succeeded today.

You could have been worried from Namath on but maybe you aren't that old to remember.

No one is using the word great. Saying he was average is a far cry from saying he was great.

But to us, average is an improvement.

Eh I'm not too impressed. He needs to be thanking Marshall because he saved his ass and gave him new life. I think fans are woefully over reacting to him.

I had to look it up but I actually was alive when NaMath plYED for the NYJ.

In 1970 the Jets lost to the Brown thanks to a Namath INT in the first MNF game.

Fitz = best Jets QB ever? (JK)

Oh man this board blew up after that game with praise for the new awesome Tony Sparano offense. A lot of collective amnesia followed a few weeks later.

Fitz isn't going to beat you with his arm, but he could easily lose it for you trying to play above his skill set; it was sort of obvious today. Still though, I get where the OP is coming from. It's nice to have a QB back there that understands when to check down, throw it away. You know, rather than run diagonally 6 yards in the wrong direction before A)fumbling rather than going out of bounds B) tossing an int because of said backwards running or C) escaping the sack to only run backwards a few more yards before the play ends.

Interceptions themselves aren't important as Namath and Favre both showed as long as the rest of your game is so much better which theirs were...the problem with our QBs of late is that the highlights of their careers so far have been the picks, fumbles and whatever.

True but we have been 1-0 before. This is seriously the first time in 7 years were QB play wasn;t the primary topic. Fitz was average and we won. This could be a special year.
