Maybe it was because the people were afraid of that threat that was made on NFL Stadiums.

Either way, I hope the crowd improves. They play a big part in the game, especially when the D needs to step up or when it's late and the game and they are driving down the Offense with loud chants.

That wasn't at all a factor. The guy who sits in front of us said it best--"Kill me at a Jets game, go ahead."

I like to try to get home "when I can" to watch other games, eat a nice dinner, have sex, take the dog out or relax a bit the night before the grind of the work week. To me that is pretty important.

That's reasonable (except for the "watch other games" part, that's pretty weak). I guess it's just different for me. When I go to games I like to stay until 0:00. I need the closure.

RoyalTee and i were saying the same thing yesterday at the game. That music does not belong in a crowd that you want fired up. Play metallica,Van Halen,ACDC

It was a little embarassing. I brought my girl (a Giants fan) to the game. Second row in sec 129...we could see orange everywhere. Place emptied out mid-way through the 4th. It made me think that half the people in the stadium don't pay attention to this team on a week to week basis. If they did then they would know that most Jets games don't end until the clock reads 00:00.

As a season ticket holder since 93, my biggest problem isn't with the people who leave early, or even the people who don't make noise. What I hate the most is the people who just can't sit in their seat and watch the game. My seat is on the end of a row, and I swear to G-d, I only get to watch half the plays because there's always someone walking to or from their seat. I don't understand why they come at all if they are just going to spend the whole game running back and forth to the concession stand/bathroom/spiral staircases. It drives me crazy.

I noticed the empty seats right away.section 338 of the upper endzone corner was empty.but those seats are reserved for the visiting teams fans.so that's not our fault.
but behind the endzone opposite the tunnel,2 rows where empty the whole game.

my section, which was full, also had a lot of faces I have never seen before.my friend said it was the same way last week.

when I was selling tickets before the season started the this team was supposed to suck, nobody even sniffed these tix.but everyone on this site would die to go and stay to 0:00.
I left at 4:33 in the 4th quarter to tailgate more.listen to the jets on my walkman the whole walk back to 17a and watched the bucs 62 yard kick and the falcons win.

b/c you can't smoke in your seats and the beer man does come around.if they had a beerman/hot dog guy come around, that would cut the people getting up..

Yeah, they're a pain in the ass too. I get everything out of my system before the game so I don't have to do that.

Yeah I was at the Colts game and that was a great crowd. I swear I was the loudest one there. I wish I lived in New York again...when I'm done with college I think I'm going to live their again so I can go to every Jets home game.

Its not even that the stadium isnt packed...that doesnt really matter...i remember last year against the Chargers the stadium was maybe 1/4 full and it was loud as hell. People are just not getting up. On third downs i could hear a person talking the next section over. That aint right. I think i do my job but the people around me suck. Theres one other guy(Tie Guy) who kinda makes noise but thats it. The worst is the endzone across from me. The side away from Ed. The section right behind that endzone is completely empty every game. Who ever is in that section should be embarassed.

It pisses me off when stuff like that goes on. Some of those season ticket holders that dont go to games because they dont beleive in the team make me sick and shouldnt call themselves real fans.

Yanno, being an out of state Jet fan, I'd pay great money just to see a game no matter who was playing. My only concern would be weather but last Sunday, that shouldn't have been a consideration.

Aren't you season ticketholders penalized if you put your tickets on Ebay? I thought I read something to that effect somewhere I thought.

Anyway, you have to wonder exactly what the entertainment options were on Sunday afternoon. Perhaps folks had other things to do. Either way, empty seats at a venue open only 8 times a season is a disgrace. Another reason why Woody would have had an uphill battle convincing NYC to build that palace on the West Side and make it profitable all year long.

I've been complaining about this for years. I live in Rhode Island, have season tickets, and make it to at least 6 or 7 games a year...I also always either give away or sell the tickets I don't use (I tried to sell my tix for Detroit for face value, ended up giving them away).

The leaving early thing is nonsense. If you have ever been to a game in New England, traffic out of the stadium is ridiculous. Rt 1 is the only access road, and it takes a minimum 2 hours to get out of the stadium...yet no one leaves early.

There have only been a handful of games since Shea where we had a real homefield advantage...Jacksonville playoff game comes to mind. Other than that, I love the Jets, but we are a weak home crowd.

I noticed it as well, I hated that, show up on time, leave after the game and make some noise. The crowd was lifeless the last 2 weeks.

I sat on the end of a row for quite a few years in the 90s, it's a drag. The thing is, it's not the same people each time, but any time anyone has to get up you have to move. Then when it happens in the row in front of you they all get up and you can't see. We've been in the middle of a row for a while now and I like it better.

We have this 80 year old guy at the end of our row, he always has these huge headphones on, and he's always there. He must get there at 10 am, and you always have to go over him. You have to tap him on the shoulder becaue he has the headphones and can't hear you. Then he pretends for a minute he doesn't see you, then he barely moves and always looks annoyed he has to move. Then his wife gives you this little friendly smile which kind of counters the old man.

I've lived away from Jersey for over a decade now, but I never remember our fans being so bored with this team. I thought we had one of the more loyal home crowds back when I was hitting more games. It seems like everyone is just convinced we're always going to suck and its not worth getting into the game.

I went to the Miami game and it was an embarrassing display. I never remembered the crowd being so lame. The few people who were there were so negative and having more fun throwing airplanes off the upper deck. Granted the game was a snoozer but the place should have been rocking in the beginning at least. It was the hated Fins! We should be ready to rock no matter how much they suck.

Leaving early does suck, but not getting in on time I think is worse. If you've been in the parking lot since 9am, why the hell is it so hard to get into the game ontime. Show some love to this team people, at least this team and regime are showing signs of life. LET'S HELP THEM OUT! Sell your tickets to someone who cares.

I have to say, I am not always gracious about people asking me to move the second, third or fourth time through the row. If you have to get up that often for your beer/smoke/bio break, you have to ask yourself if you really wouldn't be better off watching the game at home. I don't get to the game ridiculously early, but I am there at least 2 hours before kickoff, every time, and that's when I do my drinking. Once I get into the stadium, I want to watch the game, not stand in line at the concession stand. I just don't get these people.

The other problem is the folks who stop right in front of me to watch the play while on their way to and from their seat. I have nearly gotten into a fight on several occasions because the person took exception to my request that they find their seat or just sit on the steps until the play is over...I paid to watch the game, not to watch your (usually large) a$$. This concept seems completely foreign to these people.
