thank you man. this is what i've been saying for a while now. I agree with everything said besides the cromartie thing. I honestly can't stand Cromartie. Not because he gets beat or just looks straight up lost some ttimes (ok that plays a major part), but his attitude afterwards. He seems to think he gets a pass because he's Antonio Cromartie or something. He doesn't seem like he takes this shit seriously. He's very non-chalant after giving up a big play and looking for a teammate to scream at because they didn't make up for his slack. It's very annoying to watch. But yes, this fan base is the only thing trash i see about this team. No offense to you guys on here.. But every social media app i open it's just fans bashing this team like no other. Someone even told me yesterday (a jets fan) that i look stupid hoping we come back when we were only down 2 TD's because of how bad our defense played that day. Like wtf? I can't root for the jets to win a game because we had a first half that was shitty lmao. unbelievable.
how would that be worse? the giants left it all on the field against a HOFer maybe having the best game of his career, and the Mets were in the World Series... If the Jets lost to the Saints but went tit for tat with Brees all game and left it all on the field I would hardly be upset.
I suppose as you imply that being phlegmatic about the team's current level of play is just being realistic. But for those who felt, at 4-1, that the Jets could be a solid playoff team this year, the hit the Jets have taken with Mangold, Fitzpatrick and Pryor out certainly undercuts that notion. And of course stopping at those three is only for starters. There's more, also Ivory hurt and no other RB stepping up, no pass rush from all those first round picks on the line, imo another bad game from Demario Davis, and other than Revis holding Cooper's numbers down the vaunted secondary was awful, too. I assume Skrines is hurting. Maybe it was just a factor of the team deflating when Fitzpatrick went out. But I remember sitting there thinking about five minutes into the second quarter that the Raiders look like a better team, right down through the roster but particularly at Qb and the CS. A team that won 3 games last year. Oh well. Seems logical to expec the Jets don't make the playoffs unless something big changes.
Saying that geno is still a "DUMB" player is no overreaction. He dosent have the mental capacity or maturity to run this offense or lead this team. The fact that the coaching staff originally had geno above fitz on the depth chart worries me. This team can't be a contender with geno under center...
People just overreact to wins. The Jets win a couple games in a row and people start thinking Superbowl. When the team loses they start panicking because the team didn't play up to their expectations, even though their expectations were probably unreasonable I always hear players and coaches talk about "taking one game at a time", always thought it was bullshit. But I have sort of taken that approach to games this year and I feel like it helps me stay more grounded as a fan? Also didn't have expectations going into the year, so I'm comfortable where they are at. I must say though, I have been very disappointed in the Jets D's performance since the 4th quarter of the NE game. I thought they were better than that
Lol, i guess we didn't leave it all out on the field when we coulda shoulda woulda beat the pats huh?? lol. You should be ashamed of yourself right now. There's no way in hell you can be fine with Brees shredding us for 300 yards and 4 TD's in the first half. Giving up 52 points woulda been fine for you? Brees almost doubled what Carr did to us. but you would've been fine with that b/c it's Drew Brees?. unbelieveable. I'm not ok with anybody shredding our defense bc that's what we invested heavily in. But i'll damn sure take what Carr did to us over what Brees did to them bums in blue. lmaoooooo
We went from contenders to absolute garbage the minute fitz went down..whether we turn it around will depend on who the QB is next week.
If you watched the Raiders this year, you would know that they aren't the same ole raiders. I knew it was gonna be a tough game, and it was multiplied with the injuries. That being said...we need to temper our expectations. Rookie head coach, rookie GM, new offense (again). There are going to be some growing pains. We're shouldn't expect the jets to sneak our way into the playoffs like Rex did his first year because we are a flawed team just like the other 31 teams are. We know we can't really play from behind, our special teams is terrible, and we're lowkey predictable on defense. The over-reactions are silly. Calling this team garbage is unreasonable and stupid.
I'm not so upset with the outcome as I am they way they looked from the start of the game. The defense, once again, looked flat and lethargic. We have seen this before, and not just this year. We have seen this for a couple of years now. The defense either plays lights out, or they can't stop a nose bleed, and there is no middle ground.
Not sure what planet you live on, but on this one everybody knows that Philly fans are the worst. The only people who think Jets fans are the worst are other Jets fans other than the ones who think Pats fans are the worst. This is absolutely no different than any other sports town. There is always a segment of the fanbase who's feelings about the team are directly related to the most recent game.
This was expected playing in Oak is always hard...especially after what happened in NE it seems to happen every year...as a Mets and Jets fan this wknd was misrable I mean could it get any worse... Yer I've got some faith in our team sure we blew a big one this week but heck injuries are biting the hell out this team... Pryor...Skrine...who woulda thunk it but he's a key piece to our D Mangold just to name a few our QB situation...yea trying to figure that one out. All being said we come out and win next week and we're back on track...though this loss will bite us in a wild card tie breaker
Anybody got Beningo's reaction to the game in a short capsule for us? That must have been a beautiful thing to hear.
very cynical about our "vaunted" defense. would not blame Geno for much of anything. wanted to know where the pass rush was. where the effort was.
And yet this board is like 95% of the blame for the loss falls on Geno, with a couple isolated comments about how maybe the D could have played better. It was the same way with Sanchez back in the day. The fanbase ends up focusing all their attention on the QB, and once a QB falls out of favor, every mistake he makes is "the worst mistake ever," he becomes "the biggest moron in the history of the sport," etc etc etc. We went through this with Sanchez, now going through it with Geno. I'm not sure a young QB could ever succeed with this fanbase, although same applies to the Giants. Eli still gets plenty of hate and vitriol from the Giants fanbase even after 2 SBs. It's a tough market for QBs here.
Look, yesterday is definitely on the whole team, not just Geno. That said, what Geno did do yesterday was demonstrate, once again, that he is what he is, and what he is is not a starting NFL quarterback. He made the same old mistakes he always makes. Geno is Sanchez II, he will make the same mistakes repeatedly until someone gets tired of it and sends him packing. Then he will go make those same mistakes for someone else. It is the exact same scenario we went through with Sanchez for 5 years. We need to learn and move on.
Geno getting crushed on the sideline was hilarious. I could do nothing but LOL. He looked like some proud idiot when he got up.
It's a tough market for QB's everywhere, I'm sure Sanchez being one the worst statistical QB's in the league year to year had something to do with the vitriol he was getting.
