A while back there was a post here by someone who was a friend with Bradway's son or something like that, and they mentioned that Bradway wanted to draft Russell Wilson that year, but was voted down by everyone else, and the Jets passed on Wilson. I actually heard that rumor from other places too, that Bradway was really high on Wilson. Then yesterday, when Coples was cut, there were tweets that Bradway wanted to draft Chandler Jones that year, but was voted down by Rex. And then you have to wonder, Bradway was here for all those years, and everyone was wondering what he had on Woody to avoid being fired despite year after year of shitty Jet drafts. But the most logical explanation now seems to be that maybe Bradway had great picks every year or most years, and they just ignored him. Wouldn't that be a hoot?
His picks as GM sucked. Unless someone from the inside spills the goods while he was director of scouting all those years we don't know how on board he was or wasn't with the draft picks. One thing is for certain though, he obviously had respectable draft grades on the busts that were picked or they wouldn't have been listed so high on their draft board regardless of which of the choices he pushed hardest for in the war room. He doesn't get a pass imho because of that fact.
He should've ignored himself when he suggested trading 2 first-round draft picks for Dewayne Robertson...
Yeah he was here for all those years. But in all those years the only players that we can point to are Chandler Jones and Russell Wilson? Two players that are not guaranteed to have the same type of careers if they were here. Wilson would not have led us to a Superbowl if we drafted him. But the fact that a failed GM was even kept onboard is reason enough to put Woody is the nuthouse. And to think anybody within the organization would take his suggestions seriously after he was relieved of his GM's duties is just as crazy.
Well, those are the only 2 we heard about. We don't know what happened with the others, but the organization did choose to keep him for all those years despite all the shitty drafts, which suggests his picks might have been good in general. Or that he found Woody in bed with Rex.
Yeah I think the latter is more possible. Plenty of bad picks between 01 and 06 that should've had him scouting high school football somewhere after his firing.
TERRY BOOBWAY proved many times he is clueless 2 first round picks and a 4th round pick for robertson? drafts a kicker in the second round? passes on ed reed to reach for bryan thomas--then realizes the jets DO need a safety and takes S jon mcgraw (who?) in 2nd round of same draft forgets to tender coles properly and loses him to redskins--has to trade first round pick moss just to get coles back can't even properly match washington's offer sheet to morton--AGREES TO LET A WASHINGTON SEASON TICKET HOLDER BE THE ARBITRATOR (?)--ARBITRATOR RULES FOR WASHINGTON (SURPRISE!) gives pennington more $$$ than the pats gave brady AFTER Brady won 2 super bowls justin miller (who?) in 2nd round? doesn't tender kareem mckenzie--loses him to giants--so the jets can play Adrian Jones (who?) instead at RT victor hobson (who?) in the 2nd round brilliant free agent signings--steve white, aaron beasely, trades 2nd round pick for Wr justin Mc (who?) convinces tanny to trade multiple picks for shonn greene, calls green "a faster curtis martin" (yeah right) Do you see anyone else STUPID ENOUGH to let Boobway run their organization after the jets let him go?
Overall TB was a cluster funk....... and really should have been removed of his duties after the Nugent selection. I still can't get over that. U could have taken 10 thirty years olds with absolutely no sports management and NFL experience, sit them down for about an hour of summation, and at least 9 of them would have taken a position player with that choice. ........ And Edwards is as much to blame as TB for that.
No. The results are well documented. The stories about Chandler Jones & Russell Wilson are "after the fact" stories. Tomdeb was pretty spot-on.
