As soon as the Devin Smith news came out, I had thought right away about the opportunities that Thompkins would receive. He basically saved the game for us tonight.

Any jag reciever needs to make that catch. He was wide open. Props to Fitz, perfect throw under incoming pressure

Yessir and Fitz got crushed. Interior pressure was killing us all night long.

Thompkins is a pro receiver even if he's not above average. He's a good 4/5 to have on the roster though.

He almost dropped that Dime thrown by Fitz. Great play, and happy and thankful he held on to it..

Anyone else think that if it was Devin Smith in there that he would have dropped it?

True---the catch was not hard. The fact that he told Fitz earlier in the game that the play was there is impressive. It made Fitz look for him when the play was designed to go inside. At least that is what the papers are saying.

Yeah, when you see the replay he did come really close to dropping it.

    ^^^THIS.
He is a veteran that can recognize coverage tendancies and a valuable asset because of that. A guy like Devin Smith might be able to run down the sideline and maybe catcth a ball here or there, but he doesn't have the clout to tell the quarterback what's going on in the secondary and be listened to.
He came up with a huge play that exploited what Dallas had done earlier in the game...quality VET move.
