Steelers “very disappointed” in Martavis Bryant

Posted by Michael David Smith on March 14, 2016, 3:18 PM EDT

The Steelers have issued a statement in response to the one-year suspension of Martavis Bryant, and they’ve said they’re not happy with their young wide receiver.

In the statement, attributed to General ManagerKevin Colbert, the team makes clear that Bryant is going to have to earn his way back on the roster if he is reinstated a year from now.

“We are very disappointed that Martavis Bryant has put himself in this current situation of being suspended by the League,” Colbert’s statement said. “He is at a crossroads of his professional life, and he needs to understand significant changes need to occur in his personal life if he wants to regain his career as a Pittsburgh Steeler. We are hopeful that Martavis will take the necessary steps to develop the discipline in his personal life to become a successful player and a good teammate.”

If Bryant meets all the conditions of the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, he can be reinstated in 2017. The Steelers, however, sound like they’ll have to be convinced to take him back.

In the NFL's eyes , yes.

And for what its worth , Roethlisberger was never convicted of rape. So people can think what they want of him , but in a case of a millionaire athlete vs. some drunk bar whore , Id give the benefit of the doubt to the guy with everything to lose.

But I guess you dont need evidence or a conviction to assume guilt.

Im sure you thought the same thing about the Duke lacrosse team and Patrick Kane too.

Man, this guy had an opportunity at greatness and he decided to smoke it away, knowing full well the consequences if he failed another drug test. He could have been the next Antonio Brown, but instead he's the next Josh Gordon, somebody that will be forgotten when all is said and done. As much as I disagree with year long suspension over weed, the guy knew the rules and still failed. What an idiot.

The Nevada Chick discussed with a girfriend about getting with Ben, and she was batshit crazy.....I'd think as the suit didn't go in her favor, still harms Ben to this day

The GA soro chick also was not believable as her testimony was not turthful nor was the DNA test.....but carry on calling Ben a rapist (not u irish). He got setup but to his fault put himself in that position due to his status as an popular person. But he changed and learned from that the hardway. Kane and Duke are the same things. Period.
