1) Bring back Ijalana, If he was good enough to be the backup, maybe he is serviceable as a stop-gap starter. 2) Draft Conklin, or best LT in draft. None other than Tunsil/Stanley appear ready to step into LT on day 1. 3) Have open competition for LT. Its dangerous, but Clady is too expensive/injury prone. But I wouldnt be surprised if Mac gets a workable guy in on a great contract, like he has done with Forte, Bruce Carter, etc...
Im usually against trading up but to get Stanley, if he was around say pick 10 or 11, I would give up 1-2 draft picks to make sure you get your LT of the future. Like if it cost the team a 2nd and 5th round pick, you gotta do it. 3rd round you can still focus on the pass rusher, and maybe you can get a trade down in round 4 to get a 6th to get an extra pick for depth.
I want us to trade for L. Joeckel. He should be cheap now that the Jaguars have signed Beachum to play LT for them and he is still young.
That's why he didn't' cave in to Fitz demands when guys like Chase Daniel were getting 7 mill a year?
Bring back Ijalana and sign Beatty or Jake Long at a near minimum deal if Clady isn't available at a reasonable price. I'd then expext to see an OT picked early in the draft. I also hope Qvale shows enough to overtake Breno at RT
Which is exactly why Fitz should get more,Lets revisit this topic if we lose Fitz and Geno starts and we end up 4-12.People are gonna be destroying Mac for not paying Fitz.
Anyone who thinks you're getting Joe Thomas and the #32 pick for Wilk is literally out of their fucking minds and doesn't pay attention to the history of trades in the NFL.
Why is it that you emerged from your cave right when we lost a great player who carried us into the playoffs multiple times? How would you feel if Jets fans crashed your forum when you lost a player who took you to the playoffs? Oh wait...
Go back to "The butt hole of America" and stay there. Don't come out of your boarded up cave and start talking trash. #rantdone
I'm of the opinion that they should sign a FA to be a stop gap LT for this year. Let the draft play itself out and grab BPA, if a LT falls to them that Mac is high on then you take him, if not, then you go with your draft board in the war room. They can plan to address the LT position next year, just because things come up does not mean you start trading away picks, keep your picks and focus on the draft.
No he did not. The 89% rule is over a four year time span. That was the third year .( every team has to be in compliance at the end of this year. Mac elected to overspend on the CB ( when they addressed it enough in Fa). Signing Cromartie for eight million was assinine . He could have kept that 8 million and rolled over to this year. Mac has made mistakes , and is understandable as this is his first go around as a general manager. Only way you get better is by learning from your mistakes.
The Jets might not even be able to trade Muhammad Wilkerson - it's going to be tough for a team to justify paying Wilkerson a big contract, and give up picks.( especially one of the deepest defenseline drafts in awhile). Some of you fans expectations of Muhammad Wilkerson trade aren't realistic. Jmo the best the Jets are looking at is a second round pick for Wilkerson. That isn't good enough than expect Wilkerson to play the year under the franchise tag.
Macc did have to spend the money. You're correct that the 89% rule is over a four year span, but it applies to every four year span. In this case, specifically the span from 2013-2016. In 2013 and 2014 under Idzik, we spent about 80% of the cap each year. In order to reach the 89% threshold, Macc then had to spend about 98% of the cap in both 2015 and 2016. Which means he was not allowed to roll over significant cap space from 2015 into 2016.
get ready for a first/second round OT boys.....they have no choice. Multiple years of neglect at that position courtesy of all the corners, DL and qb's taken over the years.
