What's the deal with Amaro? I'm seriously losing patience with his inability to perform outside the realm of practices and training camp scrimmages which is apparently the only time he does well/plays closer to expectations. Is he afflicted with a terminal case of GSS (Geno Smith Syndrome) a disease which is defined by a player possessing all the desired physical tools, talent and natural ability but who is wholly unable to successfully apply them with any real consistency in actual games? Other symptoms include frequent choking, making the easy look impossible and generally being your own worst enemy in terms of performing on the field of play. My main question (which I obviously don't have the answer to) is how much longer do continue with Amaro and what needs to happen before the FO decides to fish or cut bait?
You see what he does the last two preseason games. If he does well, might as well make him the starter because who else will start? If he does poorly, have him be the backup, and just use Kellen Davis to block.
That's the problem. I don't think Gailey cares about the position. It bothers me a lot, too. Mainly because I see what the Pats have been doing for years. They prioritize the low-cost positions, and get a ton of production out of them. TE salary compared to WR salary is a bargain. Move your targets to the middle of the field - slot receiver and TE - You are paying a lot less for premium production. It makes fiscal sense and the Jets are going in the opposite direction and have been the entire time.
If the guy can't catch, put a lineman in there who can at least block. Make him eligible every few plays, see if he can catch a couple. It's ridiculous to do the same shit over and over hoping for the best with these guys. Bohannon is the same, can't run, struggles blocking. Put someone in there who can set a guy on their ass and make a hole.
where the hell is Schuler when you need him? This kid is not a prototypical TE, he is an Hback period. His blocking is poor and he still lacks concentration in games.
Chalk it up to another great idzhik pick. Between milliner, geno, amaro, that kind of shit makes you spend in free agency and hurts your team later.
Brutal drop in the first. Fitz hit him perfectly. Should have been an easy catch. Geno hit him across the middle albeit a bit behind but he should have caught that one too. Hands are looking very suspect.
Bostick's had a pretty good camp, and is a pretty good blocker. I'm still hoping that Amaro will put it together, but not gonna hold my breath. If I were Bowles, I'd give Amaro a lot of chances both to receive and block in the 3rd preseason game. If he does passably well, then keep Amaro, but this will be Amaro's last chance. If he blows it in the next preseason game or this year, he's outta here. At this point, I'm not sure they should even keep Davis. He's such a liability as a receiver. Bostick has had a pretty good camp. He's certainly a better receiver than Davis and may be close to being Davis' equal as a blocker, if what I've heard about him is true. I don't recall seeing him that much last week, and could only listen last night, but didn't hear his name called much, if any.
No he didnt,The TEs on this team are awful.I wish someone would answer my prayer and kick Kellen Davis in the dick. What a bum this guy is,he cost us the first Buffalo game last year.
I think Zak should be our starter and we should get rid of Amaro and Davis and pick some TE's off the waiver wire. They both a pathetic
I read an old story on a GB site and back then their fans expected BB to be their TE of the future. He's fast and can block, and might be the most talented TE in camp. Why does he keep getting released? Can't be because of his muff in the playoffs, can it?
Yup. It's so irritating. They evolve and wait for the league to catch up, and then they change gears and exploit something else (on or off the field) that's waiting to be exploited by a football mind that sees the biggest picture. Meanwhile, our best weapon is "You guys cheat!" lol. If BB hadn't quit as HC of the NYJ, he'd be a fucking saint to us. "Oh, but he's nothing without Brady." BB knows how to game the system. Is it ethical? It's fucking football, which is constantly evolving in myriad ways, black and white and gray. If Belli was OUR prick, we'd be laughing at the haters just like they do in Boston. Not a single person on this site would be saying, "Well, he understands the game up and down, but I question his ethics." Bullshit. We'd adore him. Yeah, this post hurts to read. It hurts to write even worse. What a shite state of affairs. KILL THEM! KILL THE TRUTH! KILL MY FEELINGS! KILL THE PATRIOTS WITH FIRE! /drunkrant
What's the deal on my boy Wes Saxton? I know he's not a great blocker but he's very fast and has good hands.. he's been on the roster all this time since last year.. give him a shot! we can't do much worse.
Yeah, I remember that muff. It was pretty horrific. I hope that still isn't being held against the kid. Unless he still suffers from brain lock, that's ancient history and should be forgotten.
