Anybody change their vote after PS1? Neither one really did anything to move up or down in the standings, I don't think.

    My vote just went in.

The reports of Petty's demise in OTA's media tweets were greatly exagerated I reckon.

I'm not changing my vote...yet, but I'm only giving it a week.

I've changed my tune and now have a different outlook. I guess a lot can change during an NFL offseason including the opinions of fans who want the best.

I've always been in favor of carrying 4 QB's but if it came down to keeping only 3 quarterbacks I've been on record stating how Bryce Petty would have to be on the bubble as the odd man out.

I no longer feel this way.

    • If Fitzpatrick doesn't completely collapse Geno won't even have a chance to perform during a contract year. Meaning the probability of Geno giving us a home town discount as an up coming free agent and/or our newer GM in Mac applying the Franchise Tag on Geno are both slim to none.

    • Even if Fitzpatrick wets the bed and Geno performs pretty good, I just see Geno having too much pride as a man, too much of a chip on his shoulder to (willingly) return to a team who's front office just drafted a 21 year old Hackenberg during the 2nd round of this year's draft.

    • Another scenario is, what if N.Y cuts Petty this offseason? And no longer wanna pay Fitzpatrick big time money? While Geno Smith decides to join another team? Then theoretically we could be down to only 1 quarterback in a 2nd year Hackenberg while still needing another 2 QB's to get back to 3.

As a 4 year Geno believer it's upsetting to say but as of right now I'd have to say that Geno's the player to release (or trade midseason to a despare team) if we decide to only carry 3 QB's.

I loved Petty coming out of Baylor, as I did Geno coming out of West Virginia. And I'm not quitting on Geno either, I've never once seen Geno surrounded by the likes of Marshall, Decker & Forte type weapons but these past two preseason games Bryce Petty has shown me enough to the point of believing that he's at the very least got backup capabilities as a developing prospect.

Petty has impressed me lots when compared to only last years preseason & I shouldn't feel forced nor obligated to hide my enthusiasm for this kid out of Baylor all because I've also been pulling for Geno. Takes the fun out of being an N.Y.J fan.

Against both Jacksonville & Washington, Bryce Petty has combined for 23/40 (57.5%), 335 yards, 2 TD's/0 INT's along with a QB Rating of (should be) over 90.

More importantly outside of preseason stats he's looked really good regarding mechanics, arm strength, footwork & total confidence.

I'm pretty sure the coaches know that most of the players Petty compiled those stats on will be out of football in a few weeks.

I'm really concerned that our starting offense couldn't score and Fitz was 8 of 19 for 35 yards. Geno's Stat were slightly higher but offset by the pick.

How much longer will this board keep giving Fitz a pass?

IMO Petty has shown enough to warrant keeping the kid on the roster.
As far as keeping 4 QB's, i'm not sure about that, but Petty should stay and Hack ain't getting cut so.............

I've been thinking the Jets will finally give Hack a chance in the scrub bowl and afterwards he'll have some mystery injury that lands him on IR.

I don't think he can practice with the team if he's on IR so I'm not sure how much sense that makes.

Depends if the Jets value the practice time or the roster spot more.

He can still learn the mental aspect of the game while on IR. Wouldn't be the first player to do it.

I believe your anger is directed the wrong way. Instead of insulting me, get mad at your front office for handcuffing you guys with terrible QBs from top to bottom of the depth chart. Fitzpatrick with the Jets forever yay!!

Is that all you have, "Fitz is going to be your QB for ever and ever". You weren't at all on point the first time you said it and 42 posts later you still don't get it. You are an Intellectual lightweight and add nothing to the site, see if you can come up with anything else before starting another Fitzpatrick thread..

You sound like a broken record. Speaking of broken records, you guys are what, like 5 years from breaking the record for longest playoff drought in the SB era?

No, anger might have been displayed something like this.
You are the unwanted spawn of a boil ridden anus, take your repetitive bullshit and get the fuck out of here, you bring nothing to the site.
Not sure why the same trolling bullshit is allowed to remain here, you should have been gone the second you started a second thread on the same exact subject. Now just fuck off.

Please don't curse at me. I haven't directed any bad language to anybody on this forum so I would expect the same treatment in return. I can understand your frustration, you guys realize what I realized a long time ago which is that Ryan Fitzpatrick is a hinderance to a team and he can only takeyou so far. Every year that he is your starter is a wasted year. Here you are with a great receiving duo, a great defense, and a team built to win now except you have a quarterback that is only consistent throwinf screens and dump offs. It's a shame really, I feel your pain my friends.
